I have to change insurance companies because the one im with wont cover me with any mods on the car - i have alloys and a stage 1 kit waiting to go on

I cannot afford my own insurance so i use my dad as the main driver and me as a second driver
but when i tried to get a quote with LV online, it said that all named drivers have to be over 25 and i'm only 23 so we cant use them :saywhat:

I also got a quote from Footman James but i think there terms and conditions are a bit s**t to be honest

Does anyone know if Tesco will cover you with modifications?

Hi Mini Angel, Tesco are cool with mods but were a bit silly with their pricing.

I'd recommed you give HIC a call, advertise on the back of Mini Mag. They allow mods for a fixed amount. £125 for up to 10% power increase and £1000 on cosmetic changes. Pretty reasonable.

I couldnt be bothered to read all the posts, so im sorry if im repeating what somebody else has already said,

the best insurance comany i found was miniworld, as not only were they cheapest by miles for me and my girlfriend but we also get 10bhp on the engine for free, and £1500 worth of cosmetic mods free, will all our mods declared, a agreed value of £5k full comp cover for me (2 years no claims and Aimee one years no claims) and this is on a mpi cooper in anthracite.

Karl.

I tried Miniworld and they wont insure any named drivers under 25 either
Tesco were too dear

So i am now insured with Norwich Union £250 a yr with all mods declared and they are fine with them
I do want to get my own insurance pretty soon so i can start getting my no claims, but for now that'll do

I'm with HIC paying £204 a year on a modified classic policy, thats with a manchester postcode (which doesn't help), zero no claims and as a second vehicle.

Mind you iam 26 which helps and its also on a 6000 a year limited mileage.

Don't think they insure under 21's though.
