Why have the newly generated members of the Telford/Shrewsbury mini owners club let this thread drop to third surely this is the most important topic of the midlands forum? so how is everyone? oh and when i said my mini was going to be back to me the other night i was presuming the sprayer was Reliable! I lust want my baby back!!!!!! By the way does anyone know where i can get a decent set of gaitors to match my poppy red carpet not the commn-cheap red ones ??

If you really want to spend money, check out Newton trimming, locally theres PJM in Market Drayton.

They will custom make you one in what ever colour you want!!

I still haven't had chance to get over to the horseshoes, got sidetracked actually working on the mini

Don't worry people are just shy, the meets will take a while to get off the ground, i bet there won't be more than 4 of us for the 1st onr.

These things take time.

When do you get your mini back than?

Hah - I've jusr had car trouble aswell. Okay - originally the wiper motor went. It turns out the small circular disc that lies between the casing and electro magnet inside the main housing had split in half and the rest of the copper part of the motor was all burnt and black rather that nice n shiny. Had a lot of probs sourcing a new motor quickly so as a temp fix i went for a free motor from a morris minor 1000 hehe. ONly slightly different as the case is square not circular. Its held in place nicely but i only have one working speed (normal) or the manual (wiper down) function on the stalk.

After half fixing that and now not having to worry about no wipers at all for the moment i was in the car travelling back from Wales last night and the rear lights went on the car comin down the bypass! :cry:/ Not looked at it yet but i expect its just a fuse but since temporarily fixing the wiper everytime it the stalk is moved to 2nd position it blows another fuse. I cant see what the problem is but obviously the most important thing is to fix the rear lights....

Does anyone know what amp fuses are needed in the box? I canna tell a thing from the wiring diagram in the haynes and none of the fuses in there have got their amps on. Except the one i used from the house ^_^/ lol......needed another temp fix cus one blew.......including another i nabbed off a rusty old landy which was just sitting in the yard.

I know i shouldnt be doin temp fixes but it was late n i needed to get back. Hopefully i can get some fuses today. Only ones ive got are blade connectors

Re: Club - i'm surprised more peeps havent got intouch about the meet but a few might turn up without actually confirming before hand. Plus once we have a name etc then fliers will be out......thought if they were laminated then we could include a message near the bottom asking if anyone in receipt of the leaflet could leave it with another mini under their wiper if they see one (so long as they have the details of meets).....wouldnt matter about the rain or nout then mucking up the info on the flier or making mess over someones nice mini! :ermm: Just an idea anyway.

Ah the joys of mini ownership!!

the wiper motor I swiped of my other mini only has one speed, still its 1 more than the one I took off.

Are you sure its not the wiper motor blowing the fuses?

I will have a dig around in a mo as I have seen a list of fuses somewhere.

I think it was originally the wiper motor blowing fuses but i have no idea now. Was about to fit a new radio to the car - thankfully staying away fromt he that for a mo else i'll be blowing more fuses! lol.

My motor had two speeds - normal and slightly faster hehe. Its an F reg mini, 88/89? Been told that the morris minors only had one speed too but im positive my mini had two. I've looked all over the car for hidden fuses but couldnt find any that had gone until testing the new motor.....(and the lights when i check the box out in a bit)

Yours should have 2 speeds.

I'm not convinced that the minor motor is suitable. Its a shame that I've just taken my old 1 to the tip as you may have been able to make 1 good 1 out of the 2? -doh
