RSPs had body coloured arches and wing mirrors, a sun roof, mini 30 seats but with cooper logos on them, wood dash, and green dials. they were released in 1990 as a special edition cooper, they came in red and black,(i think there may have been brg as well) there was no plans to re introduce the cooper as a main stream model but because the rsp was such a huge sucess it was re-launched. after 1991 the normal cooper came out with white wing mirrors, black arches and a white roof with no sun roof, then after 93/94 they changed over to spi.

but mine was manufactured 1990

I know it all gets very confusing.

Mine is built in 92 and is SPI but the Rover sheets say from 93 onward were SPI.

Yet again it was whatever was left over

as far as i can tell, once the rsp was on sale and sales were far better than exspected a normal main stream cooper was released, hence some coopers are from 1990.

as for what it says on the v5 im not sure, prob just cooper, as it aldepends what the dealer descided to put down when the car was regestered. a good exaple, check the colour of your car, some coopers just say multicoloured. mine says black, but technically its not.

I think they are just all over the place... shame they can't come up with a definitive list, I mean there were not all that many built.

Mine say red/white, if it said muticolored surely you could get away with alot of stuff by saying it wasn't. Sorry I digress!

no i have a cooper non rsp and it is a october 1990 car and i bought it new

RSPs did not have a wood dash
RSPs came in british racing green (my sister has one )
RSPs came with a oil cooler

Hello iam bungles sister our rsp is 1990 brg with sunroof and they dont come with a wood dash
