Yeah for sure adam...i can't wait to finish her. As for you giving up your mayfair it's all good...you live in england and i live in canada...there' sa big difference...you people have so many bloody minis to choose from it's not even funny! We on the other hand have only a select few to choose from and i feel obligated to keep the ones we have alive.

Heres an update on the project...no pics yet though sorry.(haven't got em uploaded yet.) I did the final touches to the rear end; trimming here and there and then i fit the rear end panel and boot repair panel...boot floor section is welded in and the rear panel has been started to be spot welded in place too (ran out of time to finish)....all in all the back end is lookin like a mini again!

well i found a set of buckets for sale in the states form a guy on www.miniportal.ca and i think i might get them....black vinyl with red pipng. they are sweet. and they should look just perfect in ol' rusty.

Well yesterday i continued spot welding the backend panel in and it looks excellent!!! And after taking a ride in Dougs 120hp mini i've got a real adrenaline rush to work faster on rusty. :D :cheese: well pics will soon follow of the present state of rusty but heres whats left to do in the main metal working department.... finish spoting in the rear panel, rebuild rear inner wheel wells, weld a couple patches into backseat floor and then it's onto filler and the priming painting and then mechanical!!!  should be done for october easy!

Hey Al, you're making a fantastic amount of progress. I didn't realise you'd come so far along. Keep at it and you'll have a beautiful Mini before you know it. Buying that spot welder was a really good idea since you need to do so much panel replacement. Doing it with a mig welder can get tedious fast.

You've probably seen this pic before, but here's a shot of my Mini at some point during the resto:

It's easy to get discouraged when the car is this far apart, but keep pluging away and you'll be driving it in no time.

Lucky for me I didn't have nearly as much rust in the rear as I did in the front. I did a lot of repairs in the floor & boot floor though.

Good luck, I'll be watching this thread for updates.
