Just heard their new album, its not really to my taste.

Only nobs care when a band sells out... whats so bad about a band who wants to make music for the people? If it gets more people involved with the scene then only good things can happen, its only the pretentious idiots who have a problem with it. If you dont like a bands new album thats fine... but you cant suddenly decide you dont like any of their previous music anymore just because they did well off it.

very very tre,

the whole term sell out,so what? Its case you likle their sound or not, not "i dont like their sound no more now lots people know about them"

new album, aint bad diferent to older stuff, its hardly drum bass or anythin anyway, i dont think it aims to be and why must everythin be classed anyway

every time ive seen them live they have been amazing, especially at global gathering

urgh, you're the last person i'd expect that from......
they were absolutely shocking, straight back to the random concept tent.

Pendulum = music for sheep.

I know someone's gonna reply with some "oooh you think you're so kool because you dont think Pendulum are proper drum & bass".

But seriously, listen to some proper d&b

Thats the point ur missing, most people dont listen to pendulum because its dnb, they listen to it because its good music.... they dont care what it is.

If it happens to lead them into the bigger dnb scene then thats even better, because it brings with it fresh talent with new ideas and the music evolves.

I'm not trying to sound like im on a high horse, everyone at some point, it seems, grows an attitude towards commercial music... whatever genre it is... i just grew out of it when i was 15

I think you're missing the point to be honest !

"listen to it because its good music...."

Do you really call that good music ? They've gone SERIOUSLY downhill since Another Planet, all they're doing now is wacking out as many tunes as they possibly can that all sound the same, so they can make money off sheep. So no, i'm not missing the point.

Been listening to Pendulum for a few years, along side all the lesser know stuff and a regular listener to stuff like BassDrive. I like their new stuff!

Propane Nightmares is nothing like their other stuff, despite what has been said in this thread.

I have to say the new Pendulum album is nothing short of down right fantastic!

It's the first album I've ever listened to and liked every track. It's all I've listened to for the past few days.

I assume you mean the first album of theirs, not in general! Get yourself some of their older stuff it's wayyy better

I've not heard the whole new album but I've heard a few tracks and their style has definitely changed, they've slowed it down and it's almost a bit pop-rock / mainstream. It is the kind of music that anyone can like - good for their wallets but not as good for the real music fans

i hate people that say they are mainstream, the only reason they are mainstream is because alot of people (mainly the people moaning on here) were introduced to d&b through the three guys and listened to them because the first album was so god damn good. I think it could be a very good album for certain people (in silico) but its not my thing, its not my genre of drum and base.

stop moaning about a genius group of guys, every time ive seen them live they have been amazing, especially at global gathering, and if they are so 'commercial' and rubbish then why would the best Mc's in the world such as Mc Eksman be representing them then? Get drunk, go to global, watch them mix 'rage against the machine - killing in the name of' into a drum and bass set, with eksman mc'in over the top, then speak, until then, dont judge what you dont no, d&b isnt designed to be listened to from a cd, its designed to be mixed on vinyl live.

i've seen pendulum live twice and both times they were distinctly average (but i still had a good night) compared to the likes of London electrizity or any one thats played at the Hospitality events. The reason top MCs represent them is cause they are the most well known producer of D&B out there, which has nothing to do with how good they are at all.

PMSL!!!

Too many funny comments on this thread.. Pendulum are definatley not mainstream, they started from the bottom, worked their way through clubs, dropped 'Hold Your Colour' and literally took the DnB scene by storm.. and the comment above.. i wonder, did you seem them live with instruments (LIVE) or the DJ Set? Pendulum are not about MCing they embrace the whole essence of DnB but use dirty electro beats to give them their unique twist! Dont forget about the instruments.. truely unique and fresh. Dont hate, congratulate. 'In Silico' is just as fresh as 'Hold Your Colour' IMO, but it did take 3-4 listens to understand it, and after that it keeps getting better and better...

One to blast out, windows down, cruisin by in the mini :(

LOVE IT.
