The guy who owns the yard is a bit of a landie nut! He's got a lovely LWB safari defender
I agree with what you say, mini's are great Nice to have it just for weekends again, makes it even more special
The guy who bought the beetle is messing me about a bit, so it may be up for sale again in the near future! >

Well it was meant to turn into my "sensible" car, but the amount of work needed to get it so I could use it every day in all weathers with no hassle was pretty huge, and I have no time. So I've bought a BMW 318 for £500 with MOT and TAX. Reliable and safe, but boring as hell!
Skinny tyres, wet roundabouts and rear wheel drive will never be boring Pete. You really are on the darkside now.....

Haha tell me about it. First time I brought the beetle home, I went sideways round a corner accidentally. A mate of mine has a beetle which he is running cross-plies on. Now THAT is scary. I'm gonna get another VW when all my current projects are finished, but I want a type 3 squareback. Best get saving

true thats why i like minis and beetles, i have the beetle as its bit stronger more reliable and roomier (luggage and gneral comfort) but stil want a mini as a weekend car ,then again i also want a lupo as a daily and beetle and mini and sunny day/show/weekend vehicles....oh and a type 3 square loli see what you mean. thats why i like minis. yes they arent giong to be super safe in a crash, and they arent always reliable. but they have character and you can make them your own, they arent peices of mass produced plastic boring tat like modern cars.Well it was meant to turn into my "sensible" car, but the amount of work needed to get it so I could use it every day in all weathers with no hassle was pretty huge, and I have no time. Haha! Same situation here! Except I have a my BMW for daily, and the mini for weekends and sunny spells! can't really justify having 2 cars for weekends.. can anyone think of a good reason? I need to convince the Mrs..

Well mine is so low the ride is very uncomfortable, and it goes round corners sideways in the wet, (unintentionally). The steering is very unpredictable, another characteristic of the "in the weeds" stance methinks. Oh and it's slower then walking, with two broken legs.
Think that covers it..
Don't get me wrong, I know you can get good ones, but next time I'll be finding an original one, and fitting rack and pinion steering!
