It was a great day! not only the first time driving Rusty but also the first time driving right hand drive, and get this...... I bought the car on September 5th of 2003 and it was the 5th of 2005 yesterday! exactly 2 years. wierd!!!

so heres the situation;
-needs a slight tune up..... timing and carb adjustment
-needs height adjustment once the correct wheels are on the front. (hi-lo's)
-needs headliner fitted..... next week
-needs glass (front and rear) fitted...... next week at same time as headliner.
-needs doors put on
-seats in.....
-insurance and inspection.....
- and I'll put the rest of the interior and little stuff together while I'm driving it.

If all goes well (don't know why it wouldn't) I should be able to get it insured by the end of this month. :grin:

This weekend I am driving out to meet Bigbadboab in calgary and to pic up some little bits for the mini.

thanks guys..... towing it into the city tommorow morning for headliner and front and rear screen instalment on tuesday/wednsday. untill the time that I get it back I will assemble the doors, build my speaker boxes etc.

well spotted those marks in the street are from me doing donuts in the street in my daily driver (1992 suzuki swift) Its been in the city since last saturday and the headliner guy is fitting it hopefully as i type this because he couldn't make it in to the shop earlier this week..... probally bringing it back home on monday. :cheese:

Al* now has his door furniture, headlight guards and new petrol cap courtesy of bigbadboab. Another member of the TMF forum 'unfortunate' to meet the Scottish TMF'er. Top bloke. Al* drove 3 hours in his trusty Suzuki (200,000kms+ on the clock) to come and get his stuff. Nice to meet you Alex. See you next year when you come to visit. hey Boab! glad to see you made it home safe.... thanks again for bringing the goods! How was the last few days of the trip? will definitely contact you next year when I'm out there.

update on Rusty.... yesterday I spent the better part of an afternoon tuning it and I'm proud to say it now runs like a top! turn the key with no choke and it fires right up and holds a beautiful steady idle. :cool: I am picking it up from the city tommorow evening after work and then I'll take some pics of the headliner and glass. :wink:
