Roofless - Your car looked amazing. I think it shocked a few people when you did the 'sound off' competition! Congratulations on all the awards though mate - i was going to come and speak to you but turned a bit shy at the last minute!

aw bless - should have said hello, there was a few there off the forum today by the looks of things. I've kind got used to the noise now, to be honest I love it :teehee: but I guess it can be quite shocking

Did anyone see the beige clubman for sale - £1200 ono? Just wanted a second opinion on the condition of it as im seriously considering buying it as a project and slapping either a v-tec or R1 into it.

this one was the talk of our camp, the guys had a good look round and thought it was really good, they also thought you could probably knock him to a grand.

It's a shame that we didnt organise a TMF meet so we could all meet up and put a face to the forum names.

I'll come and say hi to you next time!!!

The sound of the R1 was amazing - my mate didnt believe me that you had one fitted. I told him that i knew the car off here, but he kept saying it was just a badge.....................untill he heard you rev it!!! :teehee: He nearly shat himself!!!!

I was just a bit suprised that there was no description of the car in the advert in the window. I think it had 78k miles on the clock. It looked pretty clean - just needing a general tidy up. I was thinking of offering £850 to start off with and see what he says

What was your verdict on it? Would you spend your money on it if you were after one?

I've got the number for the guy who owns it so i'll call tomorrow to get a better description of the car.

I saw that cluban forsale too.
I thouught it looked pretty genuine and a late car too.
I walked round totting up the work required and the panels needing attension. Usual panel list of panels requiring attention would be a nice genune start for a project.
Did you notice the bonnet gaps?
the price did say ono , so have go at £800

Nice car Roofless.

Met a few TMF members too.

It looked a pretty solid base to start from. I didnt see the bonnet gaps, but there was a leaky sump, but that isnt a problem as the engine would be removed in favour of a BIG engine! There would only be a few panels that need changing, but not essential!

Strip it all, rebuild it with new parts, complete re-spray, 10" rims, slammed, new arches, custom interior, and either a v-tec or motorbike engine.
I've got the vision in my head and want to make it a reality!!!

I may even go in with a cheeky offer of £750 and see what he says

I must have just missed you as they were parking that elf next to you when I was walking past.

Just a slight tidy up project then !!!!

Why not it's a buyers market at the moment for sure.

I think it would be more of a 'long-term' project rather than one that replaces a few panels!
I want it to be a full on show car but still fully useable and fun for the weekends

I've got a big budget and BIG ideas!!! If i can get it, id hope to have the whole project completed by next show season.

Your right about it being a buyers market - the prices of minis have dropped considerably the past few months :teehee:

thanks for the photos :teehee: I always forget to tke them, but tell you what the hood needs re-tensioning  looking a bit like a pram !

the lad talking to me in the photos is the forum's very own 5mithy - nice lad, and I didnt ask but I think that might be his dad with him.

by my count 11 TMF peoples at the show today, guessworks brought his new masterpiece, anorak was doing his paparazzi bit, even slyoldfox was cruising for a bargain !
