Just a quick "hi" message really. I am also looking into getting some wide 10"s. I was going to go for the brakes conversion that minispeed offer but will most likely go with something like KADS for callipers. The sound of word "six-pot" is certainly pleasing but I will most likely go for 4-pot. Would people agree that 4-pot is enough for road use (although fairly manic road use from time to time)?

the kad 6 post are race only, they dont have dust sheilds wo will need rebuilding regularily... The 4 pots are perfectly adequate at handling anything but the most serious of petrol heads can throw at them , and that's in non vented form. As for the wheel sizes...

The mini docs are seeking the tyre manufacturers advice..

As has been said, you COULD fit those tyres to a 7" or even 8" wheel, but equally you COULD have a 1380 turbo mini with drum brakes. It's your life at stake...

Basically don't do it. 6.5 is about as stretched out as you need on a road car, and if you want to do racing there are racing tyres which will fit on 6.5 as well so you get the best of both worlds.

No offence but I personally think thats a load of rubbish really. The fact that they dont recommend it for 6x10s says it all. People have been using them for years.

I completely agree with you for checking with manufactures but I dont mean to be arragant or rude but its like putting a warning on a mobile and saying its gunna fry your brain when you use it. We would still use it cause we all know its just the makers covering themselves.

Its like when I plumb a boiler in at work. The average person doesnt realise that I have to pressure test the pipework to over 3 times the normal working pressure but I turn it down just to cover myself. Its exactly the same for the tyre manufacturers, they are never going to tell you what the real limits are.

Im have only ever spoke about what Ive only ever seen and experianced and I would honestly never bu115h1t anyone when it comes to safety. If you are wary Id suggest sticking with Guessworks advise.

Thanks for clearing that up though Guessworks. It also gave me some info on the 12 inch wheels. Did you get any info on the 13 inchers as I often see tem stretched on to those.

Cheers mate

i've been running yoko a008's on 7" MB split rims for around 6 years now, with no problems whatsoever.

i know that according to the manufacturer i shouldn't, but if you fancy going down that route (off your own back), i would say you could with an element of confidence.
