this is my rover mini cooper

Posted Image

its a early cooper mainstreem with the carb engine

i bought it new in 1990 at the age of 18 as my second car replacing a old 1275 GT that was my first car

Posted Image

i have now owned it for 18 years and in that time its been my only car, (still is technially) my work van and now just a fun toy

i have never started a project topic before as its always worked, but last sunday on the way home from Bristol mini day the gear box gave up :D

its a jack knight 5 speed box and i hope its fix able

at the moment my mini is sitting in the garage feeling sorry for its self

Posted Image

but hopefully with the help of crocks i will pull the engine out and find out whats wrong and sort it

first time for me doing anything like this before so crocks might have his work cut out

Good luck bumgle.
Are you going to keep the engine completely standard or maybe add some mods to enhance its performance

Mmm,

Having a project thread is going to seriously distract you from your spamming activities Mr B - are you sure it's a good move?

Lovely Mini you have! I love it when people can keep their car for such a long time without getting bored and replacing it. Hopefully I will never sell my Mini.

That's a shame about the Jack Knight gearbox - are they notorious for breaking?

Keep us posted!

Ben.

Crocks is gonna be a busy boy then!!

Are you gonna be fixing the box or just replacing it with a standard one?
