Hi all,

had this for a few years now and was dry built last year, paint applied to keep the rust away and to test if i had the skills to do a whole car, since then i moved house and just had a garage built.. so no excuses to get this finished. Over the past 12 months i have been gathering more parts and new ideas so its being rebuilt.

I haven’t carried out much work on the car for a while (just welded the cage with the help of a mate) so this is basically the start of what i hope to be a fun car for track days and weekend fun etc.

Removed the polycarbonate windows, arches, and started to covert my 1 piece front end into a 2 piece.

as the car will be completely repainted im not sure if i should keep the red or go for something else..

hopefully starting this post will spur me on to get all the work done - will try and keep you all upto date.

Cheers, Mark.

Why a respray? Looks like the bodywork is in almost perfect condition and the red is a lovely, why not spend the money you save on some nice parts?

Good luck with the build, looks like a good one!

Paint is good, but im doing the cage and inside so it might be easier just to do the lot (should only take me a weekend).. think i will probabley stick with the red loose the white roof...

Looks nice, is that a 1 piece front that you have cut?

If so how are you finishing the lip where the bonnet meets the wing? the only reason im asking is becasue i quite fancy doing the same thing lol.

Ah didn't realise you'd spray yourself, then I'd love to see a gun metal grey colour  because then I can see how mine would look (hopefully) in a few years time.

thanks , loads of work to do yet tho. :proud:

yep, 1 piece front cut into a 2, my front end fitted so well and took me ages that i didnt want to buy a 2 piece off the shelf.

To get the shut line correct im going to make some kind of form work (out of wood) then fibreglass a lip, and remove the form work... it might be better explained in pitures in a few days time.

thanks very much

not much left of the standard engine now - but basically a 1293, will be rebuilding this very soon, so will go through the spec then.

Hi all, been busy today, removed the engine, and started to strip it down, lots of new parts to add so this should keep me out of trouble for a bit. :)

Posted Image

had a few issues drifting the gear linkage pin out, and removing the flywheel but apart from that its all good.

Im intending to replace the pistons, the ones i have are stamped +.03 71.35, any ideas what size this makes the engine?? i was told when i bought it it was 1293.
