Unfortunately, you can't see the top (or is it the bottom?) nipple in this photo?

The calipers are the right way up air rises, that's why the bleed screws should be at the top. It'll be the same casting for both sides so doubt any cast in markings will indicate anything - they'll just machine the bleed screws according to the side the caliper is fitted.

Had a look at my calipers and they are the same as yours, I've arranged the link hose so the loop is as low as possible to avoid it trapping air.

Thats a good point having the loop pointing down might be a big help.
Not sure how related it is but i have a liquid coiling computer and i couldnt for the life of me get the bubbles out, but when i lowered one of the loops the bubbles just instantly disappeared, could be be the same thing with the brakes on your car.

Good Point !

I'll try swivelling the link pipe downward and see if that makes a difference?

PS - I can confirm that they are different castings (well the pair I bought were) for o/s and n/s and have different casting numbers etc. on them.

Think I've spotted the flaw....

On the calipers the lower pair of the nipples should be bled simultaneously ( at the same time ;) ) and before the top one

Yeh, I think I need to start again and bleed back through to front and as you say, bleed the two middle nipples simultaneously.
The Gunson "Easi-Bleed" should make lfe a bit easier?

Gunson will make it alot quicker and i found that it fushed the bubbles out better, just make sure you keep the chamber filled, or you will have to start again lol.

The pipes/connections are ceratinly the other way up on mine, i.e. main pipe to bottom connector with link going to the top. But thats what my instructions recommended!!!

I notice that Roofless' link pipe is pointing up rather than down, which is not what someone else recommended earlier in the string???

Roofless, I assume your set up works okay?

Roofless, I've just noticed that your calipers are actually upside down compared to mine (bleed nipple at the bottom).

All the instructions I have come across (apart from one = Minilist Discussion Forum) say single nipple to the top .

the metro manual shows the single nipple to the top on both sides (see below).
