the rubber ones I had, were a nightmare to put on, because they kept flexing and didnt sit nice, the fibreglass ones obviously dont flex, and fit against the body a lot better, so are easier to fit, if you get the templates for them, it might take a while, but once the body has been cut they should bolt on with relative ease compared to the rubber ones!
Ok fair enough...got the day to fit them tomorrow if i decide to fit them...the car needs new tyres so at the moment am definately favoring putting wider tyres on my current wheels... just searching google to see if i can find a picture to see an example

and here is an old one of mine with group 5 wide ( same width as as sportspack ) and 12 by 5.5 ultralights
Again looks good mate... although i do like the other one better!!!
So no problem with putting 6" wheels on my standard wheel... nothing else needed just new tyres??? 100% certain

1:keep your existing wheels, sell the sportspack arches and buy some group 2 e.t.c
2:buy slightly wider wheels ( 6inches wide or more) whilst keeping the 12 inch diameter and fit the sportspack arches
3:buy some 13 by 7 wheels, mod the front wing/panel and fit the sportspack arches
its up to you geezer, you have some thinking to do mate, hope this has helped

no mate,i think you have the standard size wheel being 12 inch by 4.5inch width, these cars have a 12 inch by 6inch width wheel, you need to buy wider wheels, the most you can do with yours is raise the profile of the tyre, not widen it!
Ah *rubbish*... ok ill get looking in the for sale section

You've been a big help mate... lots to ponder!

its not the 12inch bit that's the problem, its the 4.5 inch width, standard rover alloys have a very small offset to the point where 5mm spacers need fitting when using 165 tyres.
the wheels in the first pic found are nothing like rover alloys, the are 5x12 and have a bigger offset.
you say your looking for a pic of rover wheels with 165 tyres and standard arches ???? did you not read my guide to the rover alloys then ?????

am i waisting my time typing here or what

please look at the rover alloy guide, the pics are in there
or
spend all day tomorrow fitting the sports pack arches mate, cut your car about, fit them with your rover alloys, and then go and cry yourself to sleep
you will need bigger wheels, not tyres..... WHEELS

am i waisting my time typing here or whatdoes no one ever take the advise they are given ???? stop reading what you want to hear and ignoring the bits you dont like, face the truth... 4.5x12 wheels will look stupid with sports pack arches. wider 12inch wheels may not.

Blimey... thats a rant and a half!!! Ive just found your guide and it is very informative!!! Might have been a good idea to put about it in your first posts... then i would have been able to read it and understood far quicker... did do a search for sportspack arches in the FAQ section before my first post but your guide did not come up as a result... Ive started looking for wider wheels (as it says in my last post - before the rant) im going to look for 12x6 as i dont want to have to cut too much of the car and i liked the way they looked on strokers first pic... but wont be putting the new arches on untill ive found new wheels!

this is the first post i did on the subject

Tyre size is not the same as wheels size when it comes to the width.
standard rover alloys are 4.5 x 12 inch and they will look really really stupid with sports pack arches (sorry, someone has got to be honest) but then the whole car will look stupid with sports pack arches![]()
best place for them is your wheelie bin. if you put them on..... your going to have to get bigger wheels
EDIT: there is a guide to 12" rover alloys under my sig, you can put 165 tyres on them, but is not going to help to fill sports packs out
did do a search for sportspack arches in the FAQ section before my first post but your guide did not come up as a result ...
that's because the guide is not about sports pack arches
