I like them if they're done right, if you can see what the plate is supposed to be that is, i know alot of people have their initials which is fair enough, but i prefer a private plate that actually looks like something.

I have this on my Accord and it's also been on 2 of my previous cars, one being a Volvo 850 T5 which worked quite well as the TS looked a bit like T5

by the way my name is Mark Thomas Sheridan hence the TS bit

All down to personal preference though and i see a private plate as a way of making the car officially mine instead of just a car that i own if that makes any sense lol

Saying that, i wouldn't put one on the Mini as someone previously said, it's part of the car's history and it's one of it's original features i'd like to keep.

Personal Plates are just that - personal !!
You either like them or you dont.
Some people buy them for themselves, otheres buy them as presents.
Some people buy them as a statement of wealth.

The only thing to remember is that they might be cheap to buy but keeping them is expensive.
£85 to transfer to another car
£105 to put on retention
£25 annual charge to keep them on retention.

why not go for something like -

A15 KEV
A15 KLC

by the way the best plate i've ever seen is T13 VOM and it was on a very fast sports car.

when you looked in the mirror you saw MOVE IT

If you bought an old (pre 73) plate, any old random combination and got a set of black plates, you could get away (ish) with being pulled over by our friends in blue. Just change them over for the MOT.
Before everyone shouts 'THAT'S STILL ILLEGAL' I know. so is taking drugs and drink driving, still people try to get away with it.
Least this way, nobody gets hurt...
