Woop mini went for welding tonight

Was a little bit of scraping from the sills as it was getting put on

Heres a pic ( its rubbish i know i tried to make it better in photobucket didnt really do much )

Someone crashed into me :



So it was going away for the repairs , but all is good now, and should be back on the road in the summer .

When are you hoping to get yours back?

oo no looks quite bad. glad its fixed

Phoned the man earlyer said its all welded up but hes not going to bring it to me untill tomorrow because he has no stone chip or underseal and he dont like letting jobs go half done, so i will get it tomorrow after work

Got it service and MOT on friday how much will that be costing

Took my water and oil temp things out as i didnt know if they would pass the mot not working if there not there they aint gotta work haha

While mucking about i thought i would have a look underneath at the brakes and stuff


Looks like the bolt securing the caliper in place has made a nice gouge in my disc ( i think its the bolt didnt get time to look as i was getting shouted at by dad to help him do the garden

Went for its service and MOT today, the mechanic looked abit concerned about driving it away after telling him the brakes or indicator lights didnt work and that the speedo didnt work. lol

It looked good driving up the street though although the exhaust looked like it was about to scrape the floor and it has to get up a dirt track for the MOT haha.

Cant wait to get it back all road worthy lol

It didnt quite go to plan

He didnt even put it in for the MOT as he said it would fail heres the list i got

No brake lights (fixed)
No indicators (fixed)
Battery U/S (dont hold charge either)
Off side rear radious arm worn
Brake assemblies catching hubs etc (discs scored) that picture up there ^^^^^
Near side front tyre perished
Near side front subframe mount split, others soft
Front number plate insecure
Rear subframe corroded
Near side outer sill corroded
Oil leak from gear selector
Stains around water pump
Seat mountings (not strong enough, strengthen floor)
Fumes entering vehicle through bulkhead

soo not to good, dout i will get it done before L2B aswell, so i wont be there even if i do pass my test

But on the plus side the MOT man said my mini looks the best in the house and said it drives the best

Soo guess i betta get that fixed, and go for a re-test, just hope mum and dad lend me the money to get it fixed, otherwise it wont be fixed for a long time :/

I know how most of those could be sorted but i dont know what to do about the brakes is there anyway i can space the discs out away from everything??

If the disc is catching on the bolt that secures the caliper, cut the end of the bolt off, use a hacksaw and you should be fine.

What did he mean by stains on the water pump, never heard of a car failing it's mot due to a dirty engine.

Na he said its the track rod end or something like that which is catching the disc :/

And i think he was just leeting me know about the water pump as he said it looked like it had leaked before :/
