thats what i think anyway, but as you said we are to late!!

Surely though, if you were to do that, you'd then become a murderer, and in effect, a terrorists, and therefore must then kill yourself....

All Murderers, Paedos, Terrorists and Rapists should hang. It doesn't make us murderers, it ensures that innocent people won't be at risk from them and we'd all save a bomb in taxes keeping the scum in prison. Better still, use them as Cannon Fodder in Afghanistan and Iraq, Clear the mines by getting them to run in front of our boys across the mine fields.

That Olympic handover thing was a joke, What did that London bus with the bush on the top and the little asian girl have anything to do with the rest of England, Scotland, Wales and N. Ireland? It's all about London as usual.

Erm...that's because the next Olympic Games are in London....it was the London bid that won and most of the events will be within a 15 mile radius of the main arena.

Try reading Bill Bryson's "Notes from a small island", an American who shows us why we should love this little island!

when i think of britain i think of national lampoon's european vacation when they visit britain.
tiny little hotel rooms with crazy patterned wallpaper and so on.
but then again i have never been there, so i may be a little off on that one.

Oh and just to add.
Britian is made up of 4 separate counties so saying England this and England that makes you look stupid. This thread is about Britishness not Englandness!

What is it to be British? For me being proud of my Grandfathers for fighting for GB during WWII, being thankful that we do have the right to vote, not living in a dictatorship or having someone like Mugabe rule.
What is Britain all about? Day trips to the seaside, old fashioned tea shops, food!! B&Bs, rainy bank holidays, queuing in an orderly fashion, always having something to moan about, last night of the proms

My Dad brought me up to be pretty patriotic, went to watch England u21s last week and I think I was one of the only people apart from Stuart Pearce to sing (okay albeit pretty badly) the national anthem.
I'm not naïve to think this country's perfect, but I'm grateful for things like the NHS and that if I was unfortunate enough to be out of work I would be entitled to benefits of some sorts.
I'm grateful for people that are willing to risk their lives to defend our country, people like this guy Matthew Richardson

THIS IS THE SELF PRESERVATION SOCIETY!!!!!

I went to Sainsbury's in Witney earlier.... got out of the car, next to me were 2 black men talking in a language i didn't understand.... outside the shop were 2 european women, talking in a language i didn't understand.... in the shop there are a few school kids and some grannies who speak English, everyone else working is Polish, Lithuanian, Romanian, Albanian etc

Someone has suggested that they give a union jack badge to the ones who speak English!!!!!! they wouldn't need many!

My mate worked for a employment agency in Oxford a few years back and interviewed a great many non english speaking people.. he had a little test for them where he would rabble on for a few minutes and then say "get me a fire extinguisher and a first aid kit immediatley" (both were on the wall by the door) not many people passed... until he was sacked for racial inequality.

Ask youselves this question...What if the people you talk about all Drove mini's? What if you went to a Mini show and you walked up to someone to compliment them on their mini and they had a polish accent or an african one or a asian one? What then. Would it be cool then? Would you sh*t talk them?

There are probobly alot of people on this forum that may not be a native of Britain. Are they also they annoying ones you complain about? I doubt it ,but if I ws a member of this forum and wasnt a white English male, I have to admit I may be sceptical if you were sincere if we had a conversation.

Try to remember the topic of the thread..What is British? Not whats wrong with everyone else who's not from here.

What is it to be British? to be honest I'm not sure :S I think we have lost our true identity as miners etc in a big mass of equality and "rights"
