Britain = a genetically diverse population of surprisingly talented, but self-deprocating moaners. :(

well said. I'm all for getting off my arse and changing something if I'm fed up with it. As for recession, it's the nature of capitalism.

Most of you saying 'it's going to the dogs' would just love it if it did. So then you could say 'told you so'. This attitude isn't constructive in any situation (there's always a moaner in a team) and you've got nothing to gain from adopting it, apart from making yourself sad and depressed :D

I read somewhere that the most british thing is Apple Crumble. the article even had a picture. made me hungry! :P err to be british? to put up with things? it seems to be all we do as if we fight back we get flung in jail! as for what britain is about.. making sure everyone else is happy except the british!

I love my country, really! but there are times when you read things in the paper and want to scream for the injustice of it!

and custard you can't have crumble without custard!

and what about rhubarb?

yyeeaaahh I'm kinda allergic to custard! i can manage ice cream though :(
blackberry & rhubarb is nice, but not sure just rhubarb.. don't know though, never tried it :D

You could be on to something here, clearly the youth of today aren't getting enough rhubarb. They should be forced.

I think you'll find most people who say "its gone to the dogs" (which is an increasing number of people) are doing and have been trying to change things via the ballot box for years, with no joy. A lot of people, especially hardworking taxpayers have given up on changing things because none of the main political parties offer any sort of radical change to the current situation.

Call it "non-constructive" but there isn't another option, unfortunately the majority of society admittedly including myself would rather save up money and emigrate/move away from the situation than put in an effort which might, but most likely will not, make any difference.

to constantly try and improve things wether is be technology, economics political....
to care about other people no matter what who or where there from.
to eat crumpets drink tea and have a jolly old time.

Orange peco sounds like it ought to be bolted under your Mini

I actually think we're about there.: A nice big bowl of Rhubarb crumble, a mug of tea, 'n Corrie omnibus on the telly :D Brit Heaven :P

(add Moggy or breed of doggy to your own specification sleeping in front of a roaring fire. (Logs, naturally, what with the price of gas :( )
