Had an odd experience on Friday night as well in the mini, not a good one this time though...

We were driving back from a friend's and some idiots was driving like a fool along the road (one way street so I couldn't even turn around), speeding up, slowing right down, stopping at the end of the road and staying there for a couple of minutes, then pulling off really slowly in to the next road (also one way), suddenly stops and starts reversing even though I am right behind him :) So honk my horn at him to make sure he knows I'm behind him before reversing a little to make sure he doesn't hit me.

Ok, fine, he was reversing so the car in front could park up, fair enough. Off he zooms again about 10 feet, then suddenly stops :( I'm thinking what the hell!!! So I flash him a couple of times after he's been sitting there for another minute or two, he zooms off again and starts to turn off in to another road, leaving me free to go along my merry way, but no :(

I got quite annoyed so honked my horn at him again, bit longer this time, he starts to move again so I do too, only he stops once again forcing me to brake hard again ;) I notice he's waving something out of his window and he's got a huge crow bar or something and is waving it out of his window at me :) That really pisses me right off, which lead me to shout out of my window at him who the f**k does he think he is, f*****g trying to threaten me and more expletives  don't really remember what I said...anyway he pulls off sharpish and I go down a different road to avoid his rubbish driving, only to find as I'm about 1/4 of the way down this other road that he's followed me. I'm doing a good 30mph and he comes racing down right behind my bum and starts flashing at me and leaves his headlights on high ;)

That riled Neil up who told me to stop the car, he gets out and is ready to kick the hell out of this guys butt. I'd mentioned to him about the crow bar and Neil kindly reminded me that I had a steering lock in the car, so worried that Neil might get hit by this idiot with his crow bar I jump out weilding the steering lock and not looking best please and start having a go at this guy. :) I got very angry and was very, very ready to beat him with my steering lock...

Anyway, the idiot starts going on about how someone had tried to break in to his focus (yeah, right, whatever. His car had no sign of anything and we'd been in the road he would have been parked in and would have heard any alarm going off), I tell him that's no f*****g excuse to drive like a complete idiot and to threaten innocent people with a bloody crow bar ;) The guys gets really flustered and starts muttering some rubbish and pulls away as fast as he can from us after going on about how his car comes before anything else.

^_^

What an idiot, trying to threaten a small car owner, bet he didn't expect us to call him on it ;) I also suspect he'd been drinking earlier, which makes him even more of a complete and utter c*ck!!

Sorry, had to have a little bit of a rant about him...

Not only did he scare me but he made me ridiculously angry too and I was shaking from the adrenaline of wanting to beat the carp out of him!! I'm really glad Neil was there to tell the guy what a t**t he was and just to be there as I'm not sure how I would have handled things if I'd been on my own...

Two points...

Firstly, the normal side of me that generaly condones vigle anti' justice say's "Good for you"! Dont take this type of behavior lying down. I have done this on an occasion or two and the coward driving the vehicle always backs down. Maybe thats because I look like a Biker scumbag ,but whatever it was ,it's confrontation that let's them know that they may be challenged in the future by somone else if they choose to act like this.

I'm glad you and your Boyfriend are ok.

Secondly...doing this puts you in harms way and you can get hurt. There are times I've confronted someone and found that I have put myself in a situation that could be quite dangerous because I let emotion rule my head rather than reason. I don't know the person I am dealing with. Does he have a weapon such as a knife? Confronting somone may give you an answer...perhaps the wrong one.
Getting out of your vehicle and confronting the "Ass hat" in the Focus with something in your hand could have landed you in serious trouble. Although you probbobly would have love to seen a police officer..if one did drive onto the scene being played out YOU would have been the one in trouble not the Jerk. All they would have seen is someone approaching the focus with a weapon. That guy could have made up any story he chose to to make you guy's look like your in the wrong.

Glad your Ok and that nothing bad happened..thats the important thing here.

I'm glad you are both ok but resorting to violence and abusive language, even if the other party is doing so doesn't always solve the problem and usually makes things worse.

Stay Safe!

I tend to agree with both Landy Andy and Dom on this, except about the abusive language... :)

And I have to say that this really isn't usual of me, the only reason I went out there was because Neil had already jumped out of the car and I was all ready to call the police if anything actually came of the situation.

However, having had several people try to mouth off to me and then when they are asked to say it to my face they always back out and are cowards about it. The guy had the crow bar between his legs and I took the steering lock in case he did try to do anything with it.

And to be honest I'm glad we did what we did and asked him why he was being such a tool. He was all ready to run me off the road and then drive off.

Damn right Anorak :)

And in reply to Dom's post, we were not violent and would only have resorted to violence in self defense to him attempting to, or actually hitting us with a crow bar.

It's reassuring to know that all idiot drivers aren't only in Australia.

While I agree with what you did, please be real careful. There are some real disturbed people that shoudlnt be out on the street but kept somewhere else (like Guantanomo Bay perhaps).

Take care & dont try that without your boyfriend being there. (Sorry but I have a 20 year old daughter.......)

I posted before on how other road users treat you depends on what you're driving. I'm using my missus's purple Matiz until the Mini is taxed and insured with "Gemma" on the number plates, I get cut up and tailgated on a regular basis, I think they're expecting an old biddy or a girl but when they see that I'm a 16 stone skinhead they soon shut their mouths. When I had my BMW no-one ever let me out or gave way to me and I had chavs trying to race me all the time. Violence is not good but EVERYONE should stick up for themselves and be prepared to defend themslves against bullies/nutters.

I think girls are at less risk form idiot males as they'll feel less challenged. Being calm, polite, and rational usually reminds or shames people into behaving properly but always have your escape planned in case they turn out to be a total nutter. Their own car door makes an excellent weapon if things escalate and they haven't already got out of the car.

Isn't not letting Beamer drivers out in the highway code then :)

:) Bet you were really shook up.

I was at Tesco last week and as I was driving along the car park to leave a woman in a Boxster starting reversing out of her bay without looking so I honked at her so she could stop... she didn't then when I got to the end where the give way to turn left is she started pulling out as well but she was on the wrong side so nearly hit me, honked again so she pulled over and got out of her car ;) I just drove off :)

I wasn't shook up, just annoyed and angry until he almost rammed in to the back of me and when Neil got out of the car. It was mainly because I was worried the guy might try to hurt Neil.

Lol similar thing to what willy said, I don't think the guy was expecting someone like Neil to get out of the mini!!

oooohh hannioli i never knew you had a mental side :shy: >_< i know people say you should have done it but i would have because i cant be doing with idiots thinking that they can get away with these kind of things :dontgetit: :P hope your ok :shy:

I wouldn't say it's a mental side, it's just defending myself and those I care about. I can see why people would say not to confront others, especially in London due to all of the stabbings that happen, but we didn't actually do anything to the guy except have some strong words with him :shy: It is sad though that you can't tell someone that their behaviour is not acceptable because people are too afraid nowadays.

And thanks, I am ok now :shy:
