Yeah it sucks :mrcool:

Im considering buying a banger and wrapping my mini up warm for the winter at my mums house...

I don't want to be worrying everytime I leave it on my street ^_^

If it happens to me id be tempted to put the filler cap on the inside.

Maybe if you bought one of the flip up type fuel cap covers, you could wire up something from the battery on a little switch so if anybody grabs the cap without flicking the switch they get a shock! just an idea probably totally impractical but the though is halfway there.

Yours is an MPI isnt it... they got past the anti shphon thing... o my... id check underneath to see if they have cut the pipes.



What anti syphon thing? First I've heard of such a thing fitted to Minis as standard.

but you still have the other cap between that, and as long as the thief doesn't cause a spark it'll all be fine.... maybe ^_^

I think he means (explained like a female by a female) the little round bit of metal that sits just inside the top of the fuel pipe ^_^

Some Bloke Down My Roads Got a really nice old golf Convertible, done only 17k Miles scince new, Some Basturds Tried to siphon the fuel out, Got most of it and made a mess while doing it! Got it all down the side under neath the Fuel cap, then the paint started going manky and started to flake off ^_^

They take the cap, to disguise Finger prints, its a common Gyspy trait.
I bet if you look the cap has been chucked in a hedge around your area, its common place unfortunualty.
And yes Minis are a typical type of victim for this

Sorry to hear this and it's not only Minis as their starting to drill people petrol tanks (on non-Minis) to get the fuel out.

See its things like this that make me think the government should let us use air rifles to protect are property. would make the ^_^ think twice before doing it again

i totaly agree this is why i keep a bassball bat next to my door n wen my minis ready there be 1 goin in there aswell
