i think most people have posted on here without understanding what happened.

i did not die, or crash, or boast, or show off, or try to impress, i did not loose control, i dont need skid practice.

i spun my car intentionally in the dry. end of.

why people have to try and be clever with 'witty' comments trying to tell me how shhiit a driver i am, than keep them to yourself.

oh, i mistook what actually happened then. i know you didnt actually crash, but i had thought your spin was an accident, and i just thought you were a boasting a bit about it. but now i know you intentionally spun your car on a public road in front of people, it looks even more like you were boasting and...im going to stop myself now because if i call you what i want to jammy will have no choice but to warn or ban me. grow up! :)

Erm, no actually I haven't, not on public roads. My cars have worth too much to me (even some of them only cost £150) to prat about in them. You can think I'm lying if you want, doesn't really bother me, but at least I know the truth.

well i will put my hand up and say i HAVE driven like a prat in the past BUT, I'm not proud of it and you do get to a point in your driving "career" where you think "oh my god, that could have gone soooooooo wrong".

you should listen to the people that have more experience, I'm not judging you when i say that, I'm simply offering advice

i think i must be getting old

no, I'm just being honest, i not going to go all hypocritical on him as I've had my moments myself :) (but I've never spun a mini, a cavalier yes, a mini no, and NOT intentionally, and in the wet)

And then people wonder why insurance is sky high for people in their early 20's and below...

Infact scratch the "early 20's" bit, I fall into that category but even at 18 wasn't immature enough to spin a car on a public road in front of people... and if I was, even at that young age I wouldn't have been immature enough to come boast about it on a public forum... :)

what the hell are you on about!! for one, why did you name a topic "r.i.p mini" if it isnt broken in the first place, and why on earth do you expect people to keep there comments about your aweful driving to themselves if you post up a topic. if you dont want comments on your "aweful" driving then dont put up a topic outlining what you have done wrong! furthermore.. you may have been driving for 18 months but matey i have been driving since i was 12, and im 15 in november.. i have driving a variety of cars too, minis, willys jeeps an e-type ect but that doesnt make me a responsible road capable driver does it.
think about what you are doing before you do it..

Well ...the older I get the more judgmental I become so I will keep your driving skills coments to myself.

When I was younger I did some pretty stupid stuff and am thankful to still be alive and have been not killed by my own stupidity. Your young and will *melons* up on occasion. So...lesson learned.

I will say that there is some pretty B.S things being said on here though. Why do people put performance enhancing equipment on their mini's in the first place?? Look cool??? Everyone on here can afford a track day and rip around Brands hatch??? Nah...don't think so. Most enjoy getting the most out of their mini on and off the track, anyone that hasnt pushed their car just a little more than they should have out on a public road is Full of *melons*.Period.No one ever went 10 mph over the posted speed limit? No one ever did a potentialy dangerous over taking??

No one is perfect man.Let it go. Concider this a learning exsperience and take some of the well said and good info from this thread and hope that it will have an impact on your future driving skills. Try a track day with someone on here or an instructor and find out what your limits are, and your cars. Could be alot of fun .

Seriously, the swearing, even blanked out, is unnecessary.

I have to say, that i think the thing is, like has been said, you done some thing stupid (you cant disagree with that comment) and it went abit wrong. Then you come on a public forum, and instead of saying "holy *rubbish* i spun my car, i was being stupid and scared myself", you came on here and said you regularly do stupid stuff, and you dont appear to have any itention of doing stupid stuff, even though it went a bit wrong. Surly you should be thinking "maybe i shouldnt try and do this anymore incase it goes HORIBLY wrong next time".

Seriously dude! Theres a difference between driving a bit faster than normal, and hooning around to the poitn where you end up facing the wrong way, even if it was on a nice open corner!!

Im not saying i dont go out for a spirited drive once in a while, but i never get anywhere close to the point of loosing control at all!

You will learn, and in years to come (if your still alive, fingers crossed for ya) you will look back and think "my god i used to drive like a moron".

Im not saying that i didnt used to drive abit quicker than i do now, but when one of my mates died 6months after passing his test, i slowed right down.

**rant over** (for now ;) )

Check your rear swing arms... They'r most likely gone.
Causes quick spins for no visible reason.

And please - don't just jiggle on them - remove them and check for visible wear.
I've senn so man completely effed up swing arms with no noticable play...

And: never ever again brake in a sharp/fast taken corner!
That takes the load of the rear which then want's to take over and lok what's goig on there on the front ;)
Bad swing arms worsen that problem to a big extend!!

Just to add something usefull

And last but not least:
LEARN to drive before you try stupid things... I drive for 6 years and about 40.000mls now and am just beginning to know what's going on!!!
You'r behind the steering wheel for 18 months... well - that's close to not worth mentioning
(and I don't mean that in a negative way - no intention of insult here!)

Cheers,
Jan

So the truth now be known. The reason for all the 'perhaps you need some skid practice' comments that you have taken disgust at is because everyone was lead to believe that this was accidental!

As you have discovered, that sort of behavior will not win you many friends around here (or most other places). I can only suggest that you cease such sillyness on the public highway and go and find a big carpark or a field to do such things.

I think most people need skid practice/training - even me!
