Reading through this, the thing I find most worrying is not that you have spun your mini, it's that you generally think you are a decent driver. And you spinning you motor on purpose just makes you a complete pillock.

I have just turned 19 and slid my mini once which was in the wet and I had braked tooo late when I was 17. That scared the absolute bejesus out of me and made me think about stopping distances there after!

Grow up mate, your not Lewis Hamilton or the Stig! The sad think is that it might take you stacking your mini to realise this! The people on here aren't having a go at you they are talking from experience which in life is invaluble.

Hmm, this experience of yours, 19 didn't you say. When you read through perhaps you missed my post! ;)

Only problem is the 'Pass Plus' course costs a fair bit I believe.

So that may put many off.

I can remember the advanced driving test when I first past my driving test and I think it was the initial cost that put me off that too.

How ridiculous that they make you pay to go and learn safe car control in the first place. So it's probably cheaper to do a few autotests then? If there's any one down here on the Devon Cornwall border that would like a go we have two very active clubs and loads of events, not just autotests but scatterers and road rallies etc too. There is something going on at least once or twice a month. You could do much worse than come along and have some fun while gaining some real skill and insight into your cars abilities!

PM me for more details if interested.

I did the pass plus and I also went on a skid pan for my birthday, id reccomend them both. The Pass Plus is just practising driving in the dark, on the motorway, city driving, country driving ermmmmm, cant remember what else I did! ;)

And the skid pan was just controling skids in both front wheel drive cars and rear. It was fun!

Here we go right i had no pass plus or anything like that when i passed my test it was just a 20 min test and that was it. I was always told by my instructer that i was being shown how to pass a test and that i will start learning when i have passed. Which is very true so what i cant understand how someone at 17 can say the can control a car skiding being it large or small. I have been driving since i was around 12 years old on private land but i still needed alot of lessons to drive on the rd around twenty hours ish.

Ok i made silly mistakes as everyone has in ther driving career. I now drive 40k plus ayear and im still learning and there's not aday that doesent go past were that im not shocked by other driver's faults even tho im no saint just ask ELMO on here as he as some story's to to tell lol.

So Woody just sit back and have agood think befor you act when driving as its been said many times onthis thread might not be you it could be someone else' family/children.

So try and enjoy youself but be safe. God i feel old lol ;)
