The leak is coming from the oil pressure sensor located at the bottom of the sump I found a hair line crack next to the sensor but a friend manage to weld it and a new sensor has been plumbed in at a new location.

very slowly, my dad was doing the filler to the bonnet tonight and i was stripping the engine down to prime the oil around the engine as it has been laying around for a couple of years. i hope it will be ok once fitted and ready to run. im hoping to get the engine in over the next 2 weeks then i can really get the head down and get the car built up :-) its a long process building a car from scratch, but i can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Cheers,

Ed

Hi Ed I do understand what you are saying when you mentioned that building a car from scratch is a slow process just doing the restoration has far exceeded my time scale and cost for that matter. Anyway back to the shop floor today the car was delivered for all wheel alignment by a classic car specialist and Monday its off for remapping on the rolling road I just got a good deal on a new Dynojet commander to aid the process. Good luck with Angela (don't get your fingers burnt playing with her)

The 4 wheel alignment was carried out today the alignment was all out so quite a few adjustments where made. Paul did not use a laser set but used 2 wires and took the measurements from the centre of the car and not the body panels. To carry out the process he first squared up the back and front wheels then made the adjustments to the toe in and camber, ride height, steering alignment and suspension quite a lengthy process to do it with a measuring tape and straight edges but it works.

I have just placed an order for a new set of wheels I will be using 8x13 on the rear and 7x13 on the front, The company making them is Forced Racing they are the SLD range of split rim wheels the rims are anodised satin dark grey and the centre red they look quite nice but they are made to order and will take 6 weeks for delivery. I will be selling 4 minilites gunmetal grey with brushed ally rims they have only seen 30miles 2 will have new Yokohama ao48 medium compound tyres if you know anybody who is interested let them know.
