And your vacuum advance pipe

It's there, it's just running UNDER the dizzy in a braided hose and along the stainless breather hose to the carb :P

Today's work...... Did a bit more painting, neatened some of the areas under the door hinge mounts and seam sealed the last bit of bodywork. Welded on the tacho mount on the steering column mount brace bar (neater than the clamp I originally made) Ready for final topcoatng hopefully tomorrow. Bonnet marked out for 'planks', but still need to mark out the wings and front panel... Phew, paintwork NEARLY done. Then interior, Make up harness rear mounts and neaten loom.

This is great, love the wood effect. Any pictures of the other minis you've had/got?

Ta. Don't think I've got too many photos of the others. I'll have a hunt about, but been out of the 'scene' for around 6 or 7 years.... Just getting back into it (started 'Chop' way back in '99, but gave up after 6 months and only occasionally dragged it out to work on in the following years.... but this is THE year)

That's crazy, love it though, especially the wood effect, how did you get the wood effect on there, is that vinyl stick on wood effect?

No, it's painted on and then varnished (really)

Doesn't take too long..... less than prepping and painting a car in the conventional way ;-)

Firstly prime and matt base coat like a normal respray.

Apply topcoat (sort of tinted lacquer) and brush and 'comb' the top coat until happy with result.

Leave to dry and seal the paint- clear lacquer is probably best, but I'm brush painting tinted varnish on this one (I've done a few mins like this) just so as I get a proper 'grained' feel on it instead of a kind of smooth satin finish I have always done in the past.

Looks good from a distance but don't know how long a varnish will stay on....

If it peels off then no worries- It's only an experiment and the chop was only done to win a bet.... If it peels, I will have invented a new scene within the kustom culture........

THE ROT LOOK
