so got a few jobs done this weekend which included setting up the new welder for stainless steel.

made up a couple of step up bends and welded them up to the new rear Box. fitted the Kat to check for length and made a new hanger. will need fuel tank removing before i drill holes to mount the hangers.

the whole idea is to keep the exhaust as close to the floor as possible.

next was to make the grove in the steering column for the UJ bolt. allen key to center on the new rack.

also tested out the battery grinder.

it is better than i thought but you need big batteries and a fast charger

but as a add on to 3 corded grinders it will do.

Just read through this entire rebuild! Awesome build and some great workshop kit you have now. Mini looks the dogs.

cheers. the issue with kit is you always need something different. but the other tools kit i want/need would means a bigger unit. and if i was going to do that i would want one that was insulted and had running water etc. but as it is just a hobby it aint going to happen soon.

should be a bit more going on with it soon but working a different shift each week driving test cars kinda messes up with the garage time.

Slightly frustrating day today.

got the studs changed on the rear KAD hubs.

ODF7aSk.jpg

but the new stub axels will not fit as the spit ring on the originals has been replaced with a machined ridge which is fine on the Mini but on the Metro they sit in a recess.

will need to chat with KAD about reducing the diameter or enlarging the hole lets see which is preferred.

but did manage to get some sorting boxes for parts as they get removed.
