Good work! Get some zinc rich primer underneath the scuttle too! Especially where you've welded! That's a prime area for them to start going.

thanks, im way a head of you ;) if I put much more in there I reckon she would be front heavy haha

Great work. I've got all this to come. Hadn't considered a rotary jig for my restore but maybe I need one.

Sorry if I'm hijacking your thread a bit but can you advise the floor space you need for one to work?

I dont have the biggest garage in the world.

thanks mate, you seem to be getting on well with yours! ( I'm going to be using some of your thread for reference when my rebuild happens ) haha

the jig only goes about 2 foot past the rear and front end, height is about 6foot to top of car once spinning

I would highly recommend if you have lots of welding, is also good for painting the underneath/stone chipping

Spot on, cheers mate. Should fit the garage. Your progress looks great. Definitely referring to this thread when I start the body work. Keep up the good work and updates.

A job I have been putting off for a while, mainly because I thought I messed up on the measurements.

So here it is. The final bit of welding to my mini shell. FINALLY!

first I offered up the rear subframe to get an idea of where the corner heel repair panel should go.

after I got everything lined up and looking pretty spot on, I tacked the repair piece in (sorry forgot to picture)

removed the subframe and fully welded it in

and then add some primer and you end up with this
