Thats some dame good progress, you going to paint the car yourself?
thanks dude, my plan was to bare metal the shell, prime and stone chip the underneath. then build back up ( lower section. running gear) I was then going to take for painting...but in all honesty im temped to give it a go.
try anything once haha

Im the same iv never sprayed anything but im going to give it a go on mine too. Whats the worse that happens? You mess it up, the sander comes back out and it goes to a pro lol all you lose is time and and cost of paint and primers. But if it works....
I say why not. my heads in the same place as yours.
( plus I got a quote recently - £2200 ) really unsure if this is good or bad
that's me dropping off a rolling shell with just primer on
cost for materials is gonna be about £500 - £600 So with that price difference. I reckon it's worth the risk.
would also love the fact that I could say I did it all.

Looking good dude, whats the engine spec? Or have you gone for a refresh on the 1275?
thanks bud.
being honest lad, don't know much about engines. most I have done in the past is a head gasket change
only changes are - drop gears fitted / roller rockers / a new throttle body kit from specialist-components.

been in the man tent today and managed to get a couple of things done.
first task of the day was to create, what can only be described as an engineering marvel!...( Ok its just a piece of rod with a slit ) but it worked none the less
after that was done I masked up the wing/a panel to draw my cut lines using a compass and following the curve of the panel lip.
which left me with this
after I had that and went for a cup of tea while I grew some much needed testicals I went about cutting/bending my brand new heritage panels.
also managed to get some work done on the engine
