Hi,
I have recently bought a 1980 mini clubman 1100 for restoration. The headlight bowls are rusted through but I can't seem to find a replacement bowl of the same type? The original ones were rivited onto the front of the car and the headlight screws into 3 plastic plugs on the bowl.
Is this type still available or do the roundnose type fit?
Thanks

Pretty certain the round nose bowls are the same.
But the quality of the repo ones is iffy. The ones I bought from minispares a couple of years ago were rubbish using on a round nose car. Virtually impossible to fit the chrome trim rings and the locating lugs for the rings in the wrong place.
Probably fine though on a clubman.

I used the S5400 plastic bowls from Mini Spares and they worked well on my 1972 clubman. I used self tapping screws (with spire nuts on the back behind the body panel) to fit them.

imack is probably right that not having to worry about the round nose headlamp surrounds makes these an easy replacement... and they won't rust!!

I used the plastic ones on my clubbie, no problems
