the guy that did the work for me is a friend , i didnt go to a company for the work to be done. he is based in Newhaven. very competent with minis. its all he does. which is why i wanted him to do the work. i always feel its best to get work done by someone who specializes or is pationate about it.

been busy all day today and got a fair amount done  the mini is now back on its rear wheels, all brake lines and suspension are fitted. plenty of stone chip protection applied to the underside too ...

the subframe was an absolute nightmare to line up but i got it in the end.

Subframe ready to fit. new copper lines fitted and braided hoses that go straight to the radius arms. means you can get rid of the solid pipe.

the radius arms before and after shot. the 2nd hand stuff i bought wasnt exactly the best in the world but after some serious cleaning and a lick of paint they came up pretty good!
Posted Image

radius arms reconditioned and ready to fit.

New suspension bits :-

and after many hours struggling and swearing here it is all in.

and finally the car is back on it wheels . well only at the rear lol.

more to do tomorrow. i'll make a start cleaning and painting this:

Looking good buddy. Kudos for that.

If it was me though, i'd have put discs at the rear.. those Honda's shift.. so stopping on drums will be erm, interesting :D

However, i'm not a mini expert, i just enjoy reading on here..

im sorry its been so long since i updated the build.
ive had a few issues with getting parts and stuff but a bit more has been done .

basically ive had trouble when buying some front hubs.... wont go into it but it wasted about 2 months of my build time.

anyway ive been working on making my own brake pipes, which is not too hard if you get some good instuctions which i found on the internet. fitted all the brake pipes this weekend and then bled them this morning, which to my surprise worked first time! goes to show those homemade brake pipes are ok... lol
the silver stuff on the bulkhead is a heatproof matting that i decided to use to cover up the no-so-good paint and it might help with the sound deadning that im going to try and achieve to make this car not too deafening to drive >_<

as you can see from the pics all the front suspension is done, the brakes are all done and the next thing to fit is probably the engine! woo hoo!

to be honest i haven't really thought about it. do you think the vtec would run out of revs too soon on 10's?

16v minishop do a 3.42 fd but for nearly £600. >_<
