Hi, I thought I would take a Miniute to introduce my latest mini, He's call SPUDNIK(it was originally Sputnik but he looks as though he's spent the last 6 years in a potatoe field hence Spudnik!!)

I bought him off good old ebay, check him out here

http://cgi.ebay.co.u...e...N:IT&ih=007

If you check the sellers feedback, he bought him off a guy who really lied about the state of him!!

Funny thing is the guy I bought him off actually bought him off a guy 10 miles up the road from me, so really hes also come home.

I can say without doubt that this is the rustiest mini I have ever attempted, to be honest it should be scrap(as you can see from the pics)

If I had any sense I would reshell, but I don't want too so there!!. The shell isn't even the original but looks to be about a 1976ish.

To his credit he has a load of good bits including:-

7.5 Brakes
1340 engine(with 80bhp aldon print out)
minilites
hi-lows

At sometime he was someones pride and joy(maybe soneone on here knows them??)

Anyway everyone loves pics, so here they are:-

As you can see, i've got my work cut out!!

I am aiming to have him done in about 6 months(i can alway edit this bit later on)

Current plans are :P

Complete new floor pan
New flitches
New boot floor
New step sills
new heelboard

Current paint choice is classic old english white with a black roof.

Hopefully posting on here will give me kick up the ass to get it done.

I've even bought a plasma cutter as well(£200 fleabay), brilliant bit of kit and I would recommend it to anyone

I don't think that actually looks too bad - no honestly!

It's the piddly little bits and awkward corners that take the time. If you're replacing sills, steps, floorpans or any of the usual suspects it doesn't make any difference if it's a few pinholes or a total sieve.

To be honest it looks loads better in the pics!!

I agree with you about the piddly bits, all the rust in the floor pans and sills will be taken care of by the the new pans so are easy.

Repairing the rust in the rear bins is a utter pain!!

I'm not really looking forward to the heelboard as it looks an utter pig, will wait till 1've done the boot floor and valance so I've at least got a referance point to try and align it off.

I'm looking forward to posting more pics
