Two rear tyres on a Bentley today, in work. A customer turned up later on with a triumph stag v8. :)

on my machine (semi automatic) you set the head about 15mm away from the rim but when you remove or fit a tyre, the force of the tyre pulls the head close to the rim as it all flexes. Gotta be really careful.

Yep, It's a PITA.

I never bothered using the head/foot when refitting tyres. And only ever used a metal head when removing, as the plastic/nylon ones flexed far too much.

Mini Sport sell single sets, and your local engineering shop may be able to assist. Good luck!

Mini+snow+salt=rust - you wouldn't believe how much salt they put on the roads here... AND winter tyres are the law in Germany (which I haven't got) :-(

Finally finished renewing all of my suspension donuts! If they ever need doing again I will either sell the car or sell myself in a vain attempt to raise the funds to pay somebody else to do it!! :p

Dunlop R7's, has anyone got them on their Mini? Any reviews? My Cooper is being built as a 60's racer, so wanting the period look tyres.

R7's look great and grip very well but they don't have a very deep tread to start with and don't last long if you drive enthusiastically. The Yokohama A032 lasts better than the R7 and is a better tyre than the 008.

Ah okay. Thanks for that. Going to be driving 'enthusiatically' anyway. Dont want 32R's as thats not the look im going for. Cheers will bare this in mind

What are you intending to provide in terms of services? You'll only be down the road in Kettering.

I have 4.5x12" mini 30 RSP wheels on my 1989 car, what would have come on it origionaly if these weren't them? and what could I replace them with?

5J is perfect for 'special arches', with 165/60R12 tyres. :)

Thank you Anthony30 x

You can still fit the wider 165/60r12 tyres on 4.5J wheels though, you don't need the extra wheel width, but fits the arches much better. I would recommend yoko A539 165/60r12 tyres based on good reviews.
