It seems one of my offset rear coilovers has a bent shaft and the other rattles like a maraca!

Yesterday the Jiffy failed its MoT and my girlfriends MGTF decided the engine didnt need to be attached to the car anymore and dropped out. Fun fun!

MoT booked for the Jiffy. Despite the fact the radiator currently lays in the garden and it has no headlights!

Anyone have any ideas why one of my front wheels is difficult to rotate and the other rotates freely? Its not the brakes, or cv joints/knuckles. It seems to be diff related. Feels like it might be dragging?

I take it that the rebound rubber is fitted and doing it's job? Without it the driveshaft can drag on the subframe.

Not the rebound no

I take it you had both wheels off the ground when you rotated each wheel?
Assuming the resistance of the more difficult wheel is enough to prevent it from moving, then when you turn the easy wheel, it will cause the entire diff/final drive to rotate.
On the other hand, when you turn the difficult wheel, the planetary bevel gears will rotate, the diff may not, and you may have seen that the easy wheel rotated the opposite direction?
I think it's unlikely to be the di...

Gah. The TF failed its MOT on wishbones. Would be simple on any other car, on the TF you have to drop the front subframe to change them!

Done this before, managed to just about get away with dropping it down and supporting it cleared the box section the wishbone bolts sit within, just locked the column to stop the clock spring spinning in the steering wheel, and un bbolted the pinch bolt at the bottom. Thought it was going to be a hell of a lot worse, think it's manageable in a mornings work on the floor. From what I've seen it's common that they rot out in the hollow section in the middle... Good luck!

Does anyone know if a 45D will be a straight swap for a 25D on a pre-A+ engine?

Very important on a long road trip to be honest :)Unless you forget to put the aerial up and drive half way to Santa Pod, mostly in silence. :(
