Ya, doesn't look like they did a very good job. You could buy some butterflies at a local market?

Well that plan back fired, as soon as I got ready to go out, tea was ready, and now I'm all full up from my steak pie, chips and beans lol, but I have some free time tomorrow, so I will do it then.

Right,

Well I've been thinking of some things I could be getting on with to keep myself busy through the cold.

First is obviously the 4 pots, they need sorting out:

1. New seals x2: Link
2. New pistons x2: Link
3. ERA bolts x4: Link.
4. Bleed nipples x6: Link.

And I might get something like this is I can't get the broken bits out: LINK

Also been thinking about my smooth boot, might get some steel sheet, about 1-2mm thick, and weld that on over the number plate bit, then filler over it, depends if my uncle still has his welder.

Will got and have a look around the local DIY stores tomorrow and see what I can find.

Well not much done today, decided to get my hair cut, and the bloody woman who did it wouldn't shut up, and took 40mins to do my hair :o , and she caught my head wound with the comb ;) , which set a bit of seapage off lol  , so went to look at the local DIY store to see if I could find any of the bits I was looking for, no luck there. So popped into town and got some hardcore paint stripper to get some of that layered paint on the calipers off. And then jameswildcooper and 1275SPRITE popped over to fill there paintball bottles up, what a beaut clubby he has :P , and that is holding some power :genius: , anyway, hopefully will get most, if not all of the paint off the calipers tomorrow.

Well had a busy morning really, decided to repair m head, and its still an open wound been as the nurse made a cr*p job of it :P , but its healing nicely now :- , went out and decided to do some more on the 4 pots, and that paint is on real good. Got some NitroMors, strong stuff, but too its time to get it off:

After

And found out the rocker cover that I want to put on, but the previous owner painted it black  , seems a lot better shiny, so will be using some of the NitroMorse on it tomorrow to get it looking good.

Thats all today so far.

Well got bored and decided to got out and have another at the breaks and start on the rocker cover. Here are te brakes after another strip:

Posted Image

They could still do with a lot more stripping, mainly just getting into the corners, then a wire brush, then a bit of fine sanding to give a niceish finish, then a lick of blue paint :- .

The rocker cover came out so far like this:

Posted Image

The paint is even more harder to get off than the calipers, but I scored the surface of it so the NitroMors can get under it, and it came off a bit easier. Will see how I get on tomorrow.

Not actually done anything for the mini in the new year yet  , but hopefully tomorrow will get the brakes finished off and ready for painting, or not sure if I should paint them after I have put new seals and pistons in? And aslo might get a bit of the rocker cover done.

That remind me, before I start any of that, got to fix the Fiat :D , seems to be having trouble starting sometimes, well most of the time lol, will try and sort that, as I need that as its my everyday car.

Wire Brush Wheel on a High Speed Drill worked wonders on my 4 pots, paint stripper is u/s if its been on ages.

PS - care using them stud extractors, if they break flush and tight you'll never be able to drill them out, use the left handed fluted drill bit method with variable speed battery drill (in reverse of course) its safer.

If you're stuck, send me a PM?
