I've got to do the wiring on Ratty soon, can't decide whether to use the old loom
or make my own as I am going to do away with quite a few electrical parts !!
ie hazards, fog light, reverse light, fiting a mk1/2 steering column (no light switch)
Lots of work ahead after paint is sorted

I would make your own to be honest, there are so many colours and so many are the same lol, I never know which wire I'm following lol.

Well...nothing done on the mini today, still kicking myself about the whole wiring thing , its really bugging me now, because if I can't fix it, then that part of the wiring/circuit will need to be re-wired, etc, which is something I really don't want to do. So tomorrow, I'm going to go out and check that the fuse box is connect properly (Well...the best I can ) and then if that doesn't work, then check the switch and everthing again, then if it still doesn't work, I'm going to swear a lot, and probably throw a hammer through the windscreen...of my Fiat of course .

It seems to be constantly live when the ignition is on , and its light green with a brown stripe down it, can anyone help?

That wire is the trigger connection for the Rev counter.

Nothing done on the mini today , instead I was made to clean out the garage and shed, as they were both full of mini bits . Mum and Dad had one of those little green house things lying around that was broken so I decised to use that as my shelving unit lol . Anyway this is what the shed looked like before I clean it out:



Then I got my green house in lol, with a nice wood bottom :





Then all the mini stuff I got out, there was more than this in the end, it was endless :



Then it all went in nicely , still needs a sort out though :



It looks better in real life lol . Hopefully will get the electrics sorted tomorrow .

Something tells me Zetec sticker wouldn't suit on a mini lol.

Well its time to go and attempt the electrics again , hope I can get them sorted .

Ok, something really weird has happened, I'm in my mini at the moment, and after a lot a searching, I decided to see if any of the glass fuses had broken inside, as they can do that, instead of blowing. So I tried the indicators, they work , then I tried the rear window dimister, that worked , then I tried the reverse light, and that worked too , the only thing that doesn't work now is the flash , but I'm working on that now .

COME ON< GET IN, all i did was clean the contacts up, and flash works now , I'm well happy , but also annoyes at the same time becasue it has taken me so long to figure it out . Moving onto something else now .
