Ok, small update people. Well my stuff arrived from Mini Spares today :D :

Posted Image

The heater silicon hoses, inner and outer seals for the rear lights, fuel pipe and filler cap seal. So started with the rear lights. The old seals were in a right state:

Posted Image

And the inside was all dirty too:

Posted Image

But a quick change of the seals, and clean here and there, and they were looking nice a clear :sneaky: :

Posted Image

Then I moved onto the petrol cap seal, the old one was a cracked, and I was expecting the paint work under the seal to be all rusty and cracked, but it wasn't :w00t: :

Posted Image

And after a clean of that, the new one was fitted  :

Posted Image

Thats all for today in affraid :D , but it was way to windy and cold to do anymore, but I'm hoping to clean out the petrol tank tomorrow, get the hoses in, and maybe a few other jobs :( , enjoy.

wow, what did you clean the lenses with? they look like brand new lol :D

Also those heater hoses look a lot better than the other ones you got. They look to be coiled quite tightly in the bag, and they aren't kinked :(

I just hope it is, I keep thinking to myself, should have gone bigger engine, different conversion, etc. Because I want it to be like sh*t off a shovel, because I've never had a car that can do 0-60 quicker than 30mins  , just want to show up that chavs, and give people a run for their money  .

Man its going to be quick lol.
My 1293 was eating the VTR Chavs in melton, as you saw, and that was 90bhp, so if you can get around that mark, it will be impressive with the charger because of the quick pick up.

Well not a huge update today, didn't really feel like doing much tonight, but while I had some free time, I thought I might as well >_< . So first I put in the new silicon hoese:

Posted Image

Posted Image

They look really good >_< , and a lot better than the cr*p ones I bought off eBay. They still need need to be put into their final places, as I still need to get the pipe in that feeds the heater with fresh air, and that is a ******* :ermm: , but I'll get there.

I then checked the petrol tank, no pictures of this, but was just to make sure there were no rusty bits, etc, and to check it was in good condition, and it was. I was going to clean it out, but decided against this, as it didn't look that dirty inside, and I'm going to have a fuel filter anyway, so that will help with getting the rubbish out of the petrol :errr: .

I then found out the fan I got off James' Austin Metro, and I'm going to mod it so it works as an auxiliary fan:

Posted Image

Posted Image

I then started to strip the motor off the cowl:

Posted Image

Posted Image

Got a few ideas of how to mount it, etc, but the guru that is my Dad had come up with so ideas too, so we will probably come up with something that does atleast half a job >_< .

Just one question, should the auxiliary fan blow air into the radiator, or suck it away from it, and blow it out onto the arch >_< ?

Cheers

depends where it was mounted on the metro. If it was on the engine side of the rad (which i think it was) then it wants to be mounted in the same way on yours, to suck the air through the rad and out of the arch.

Silicon hoses are looking good >_<

Which would make sense, as the original fan blows air throug the rad, with a aux one sucking it through quicker, it doesn't matter though with way around it came off the Metro, as I'm going to put a better fan on it anyway, for better cooling >_< .

Cheers for that >_< .
