Nice wheels. Do they still sell them? If so, do you know where?
thanks i don't think they do still sell/make them

i swapped a 1275 engine and set of 12"gb minilight style alloys for them from a neighbours who got them on the orange mini on the first page!!

last weekend i cut out the strengthening panels and bootfloor from around the rear subframe mounts

then i welded in new corners for both sides:

and welded in the strengthen panels on the drivers side and made the panels up to be fitted on the pass side when i'm finished putting in the new wheelarch

i patched the inner sill (it was quite easy to weld through that little hole in the heel board!!

then patched the heel board

and cut out the arch closing panel

and welded in the new one:

then i started on the wheel arch:
cut the old one out

i decided not to replace the whole are as i thought it was be more fiddly to unpick the inner seam to the uprgiht part of the arch, so i cut the new arch it fit:

then cut the holes to spot the edge on and put a swage in the inner seam to overlap it to the original arch

then welded in (still needs grinding down etc, run out of time tonight)

i also painted the other arch is white

so next week is finish off this arch, fit the strengthening panels, clean up the rest of the bootfloor, remove the remains of the rear valance lip, then hopefully i'll get the new valance on!!! Maybe!!!

Wow lots of progress! I love mini sky's, I'm always looking out for this project thread to see how it's coming on, can't wait to see it all done! I just wondered where/how you learnt how to weld? I'm very jealous,I would love a mini sky and the ability to weld!
thanks, i don't think i'm doing too much on it, because i can only work on it at weekends!!
my dad taught me to weld, just practicing on scrap metal, then i did about 95% of the welding on the trailer, so i've had a lot of practice now!!

ok, so finished the wheel arch, then took the wire brush on the grinder to all of the boot floor, cleaned up all the surface rust back to bare metal and removed all the old seam sealer and under sealer
then painted everything in red oxide:

then on sunday morning it was very cold
