I also got George to re skin the doors for me so after i supplied the skins(£40 at Bingly) they cost £120 to do:

then George had to get a drivers wing as the one i supplied was utter rubbish so that was £32
then two closing panels at £18 the pair

brings the total cost to £420 so really thats not bad at all :gimme: then Jack's dad Mark's coming on saturday(my bday woo) to have a look and talk about some paint ! :dontgetit:

thanks

Right oh a bit of an update to keep this upto date,

Last week i decided to fit the car back up as much as i could prior to it going for spraying:

firstly a little bit of a space issue on the drive me thinks (naughty Bruce!)
Posted Image

then it was on with the fitting of the underlay.. £10 from Malverne ! topjob :D
Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image

Then it was on with Fitting the Rover Zero temperature warning led :genius: (bought off ebay! )

Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image

As yet ive not fully tested the system that will be done when the cars been sprayed as it requires a hole in the front grill to be operational..

So this week, I've had quotes in this week for as follows

Spraying the front and doors to match the rest of the car:
(For politeness ive changed the compaines names)
Company A - £450 +VAT
Company B - £500
Company C - £900
Company D - Yet to Quote (suposedly calling today after miday HA!)

Respraying the whole car:
Company C- £1100-1200
Company E - Quoting on Saturday
Company B- £1000
Company G- £1100

So thats where im upto at the moment, theres a meeting with me and my finances and then it maybe a vistit to the worlds favourite bank (Mum & Dad)

So whilst waiting for Company D yesturday (3rd day on the trot) i decided to tidy the mini and treat her to some Krust:

So all in all a good week so far, plans for the weekend include:

Undersealing the front wings and lower areas, and re doing the rear arches too.
When Company B came he told me the underside of the Min was in good condition and just needed a blowover of underseal to keep it in tiptop condition so
thats another thing that i'm not going to worry about for a while, also the insides of the sills are to be waxolyed after its been painted. these have been given a life
of 10years so that gives me to 2016 (replaced aug 2006) before they need redoing, yes i'll admit they are oversills and i am aware of the "issues" assosiated with them,
to be honnest at the time they were replaced it was the best i could afford and the car needed to be on the road, also there was fire damage that was repaired as well so I
can't really complain too much.

righto since the last update if secured the finances to get the mini sprayed so should be making the all important call this week to say when can i drop her off

theres only 9 weeks till the deadline eek! ;)

so this weekend ive spent £23 on the min buying a jerry can and an oil catch tank thing (usually for draining oil)

i needed to remove the bootlid so i could strip it for painting, then i decided in my wizdom to remove the fuel tank , checked the gague before i removed the battery and it reads 1/2 a tank so thats 18 litres of fuel , luckily the jerrys 20l's !

so an hour later and the garage floor smells of fuel but the jerry ful ! yay! then it was time to remove the light cluster and remove the wiring from the boot ...

today i've removed the headlining and sound proofing to reveal the smoke damage from the fire (3years ago now) not as bad as i thought it would be..

all thats left is to take the two boxes out of the min and lift the carpet , await the arrival of the fixed tow ive ordered, removing the light board off the trailor then its off to the bodyshop courtesey of Bruce :D

ill post some pictures on tuseday night when i lift the carpet, thats going to be my placement therapy (start of 2nd placement in school!)

thanks

Nick
