Engine mostly stripped, need  to take clutch puller next time so we can get the box off.

Rebuild on the cards, whilst some improvements to engine bay area and painting the engine properly.

Bit of a rebuild later....new gaskets, seals etc. Replaced mains bearings, thrust washers as appeared to show a little wear. Engine is spotless, originally a yellow/gold colour so thinking it was a gold seal replacement engine?

Mostly back together now, didnt take during photos due to been oily. But heres the engine outside again mostly built up.

Running and driving, pulled out and turned around. Rear brakes stripped down so we can paint the drums, fit new cylinders etc.

Like your engine crane solution! How did you manoeuvre the engine while it was in the air?

once the engine was lifted a bit, we removed the axle stands and lowered the car using a low profile jack.

Then we slide the metal frame along the concrete so the engine came away from the car. We planned to fit wheels to the frame, but this would be unsteady i guess.

We then lifted the car back up whilst working on the engine. Then opposite to refit.

For sale as rolling project, no welding required. Just needs finishing trim wise and abit of prep for MOT (balljoints, discs/pads etc).
