here's a pic of Babs that I just thought I'd add, as I'm trying to put off doing my work! teehee!

Also, been thinking about what I'm going to do next with Babs.....

New window seals, as she's got a leak from somewhere.
New mirrors.
New speakers and head unit, going to hide the head unit in the arm rest (thanks to clubman katie bf  )
New seats.

Of course theses all have to wait till I actually have some money! teehee!

the only problem with led bulds is that you need to get some kind of resister in the wiring. other wise they flash really quickly, so ive had to go back to the coloured bulbs for now.

although i have red ones for braking and they look great and they are super bright to:

the other day i ordered some new speakers for her, two new ones for the rear shelf and then two for some speaker pods (still need to buy the speaker pods tho) so gonna be putting those in when im better! then hopefully i can listen to some tunes while im driving again! yay!

Have just washed Babs, and got some pictures of the missing arche and the damage to the paintwork! it's only a little bit though, not too bad! Don't know if it'll be hiden by the wheel arche when it's been put back on tho?

And then I noticed something else to add to the list of things going wrong.......when she was resprayed, the painter put some "anti-chip stuff" underneath the paint, leaving it look a little bobbly (have mentioned this before) anyway, I've been thinking to myself (not wanting to admit it tho as I know it'll cost) that I think the paint is going to crack and then the rust will just attack, well as I was washing her today........i noticed this.....

I know they're only tiny bits, but she was only sprayed in october (under 3 months ago) so that shouldn't be happening already should it? does anyone know how I can try to sort this out? Any ways of preventing it? Other than storing her in a garage, because I don' t have one!
Cheers!

I am sorry to say it, but the paint job at the front there does look very shabby, I would take Babs back as she deserves a nicer coat than that!!!!

i thought that, but when i asked the man at the garage he told me it was because of the anti chip stuff that he'd putunder the paint? but to be honest, if it's going to look like that i would prefer it without the anti chip stuff! but then i was assured by another person that it's fine! now beginning to wonder! iv never been pleased with the finshed result on the front end if im honest!
not sure how to go about explaining it to the man at the garage tho? :nugget:

he's done the same along the side panels too and on the bottom of the bootlid if I remember right Sian?

I still think he's used that explanation as an excuse to fob off poor handiwork, he could have done a lot better than that around the front end

I'd take it back and say to him something along the lines of:

"look, its been three months now, rust is beginning to appear already, and this anti-chip stuff you put on is terrible, it looks awful and obviously hasn't done its job properly, can you sort it out please?"

Or something like that :w00t:

The "anti-chip" stuff is a fob off for poor prep work... you really should take it back, sorry to be negertive
