If the respondent thinks the Charles Griffin interview was turgid, that was a function of what Charles said, rather than what I thought. And if it was turgid, and I am useless, why was I the only writer/historian he would see in his retirement ?

I met Charles Griffin on a number of occasions and you had to ask the right question in the right way to get him talking. He held numerous senior posts and was involved in so much of what BMC did from the 1950's to the 1970's including the Mini, the twin engined Mini, the wider Mini, attending coroners courts to show that cv joints were not causing accidents but were breaking in the accidents etc etc. He also owned the third Cooper S built. I had arranged to go and interview him when, most inconsiderately, he went and died.

I have to say that I found his response to the comments didn't seem right for a "professional writer" it just seemed to me he wanted to tell us how great he is (completely my own individual opinion)

Anorak, clearly you have nothing nice to say so why don't you stop moaning and next time, don't read Graham's article.

If you stand back a minute, you'll realise that what you are doing is insulting someone because they think that the radiator on a mini should have been mounted on the front. Grow up. It's pathetic.
