That's cause Steve is a clever chap! I'm trying Ed but work is hindering things somewhat!Those spotlamp brackets are clever! Bet it was a right fiddly job!!
Hurry up please! I expect you round at the garage to show me!
Ed
I got them from a VW show at Tatton Park actually and the price (although a bit irrelevant now haha) was £30 I think but I bartered him down to £25.Nice spots were they from & how much wonger ?
In other news I've bought the mini a present to hopefully help me push on with project. It's another gauge! Will get a pic up soon but it was the last one I was after and finally got it for what I think was a decent price.
Cheers,
Chris

OK all, been a fair bit of slacking off with the mini of recent due to changing jobs and uni exams. Was going to crack on with the mini this weekend but due to the weather and my garage being older than my dad it managed to blow off all the felt from the roof causing minor leaks which luckily hasn't touched any of my parts but never the less it needed replacing which after yesterday and today is now done. I've also given the garage a much needed tidy, put all the parts away, all the tools away, got rid of the crap etc. Took me all day to do that whilst dad finished off the roof.
Not much of an update I know but at least I'm all set for cracking on now
Also picked up the grille from Steve and put that safely away. And as Steve is well aware I've got another couple carbon fibre part(s) from Carbon Weezel after having to send them due to being delivered damaged unfortunately. I've also ordered another carbon fibre part that Steve isn't aware of which should arrive next week all being well,bargin for what it is I think :-D
Thanks for reading and hopefully I'll have a better more mini related update for you next time!!!
Cheers

Quick update time. Went down to the garage today briefly and stripped the mk2 steering column down ready for paint, would of done it today but didn't have any matt black aerosol to apply. Need to get some and may get some etch primer at the same time to give it a quick coat.
Also placed the grille that Steve adapted on the mini to see how it looked. Got a feeling it's gonna look awesome!!!
That's it pretty much. Went around the mini and decided on the jobs next on the list to do so that should cover me for a while.
Thanks for reading.
Cheers

Mint! Never knew you got carbon lower dash rails! Would have totally gone for that to match the dash instead of the suede! MAybe for the refresh a couple years down the line.....

One of the first one's I'm led to believe, if not the only one at the moment.
Blimey just read through 5 years of our life with this little cracker (two hours of mine). I take it its finished and on the road?
Nope, still in the garage awaiting to be finished Scoop, hopefully not too far off now, certainly have it all in place now so not really any excuses at the moment.
Although saying that my excuse for today is that I went down to Tatton Park Classic Car Show which was really good actually compared to recent years I thought (maybe cause I went on my own haha) and I got a load of spray primers, paints and laquers for a mixtures of uses but primarily the Cosmics I was thinking and also got an old tin rocker cover which I've wanted for a while but everyone has wanted silly money for them in naff condition or the postage is a bit top heavy for my liking. This one was £5 though and I've got some crinkle black spray paint which I think will suit it nicely
Thanks for reading.

Hello All,
Well well well..... it has been a while, but unfortunately I am sad to say no progress in the last year whatsoever, just my final year of uni and more recently a couple of holidays chucked into the mix.
Excuses out the way, sort of, I went down to the garage yesterday just to get to the garage because as it is in a field it has all overgrown to the point where I couldn't pull the door open. Was greeted by some friends when I pulled up the 'make do' oil tray I left outside for the past year.
ANTS!!! Lots of them, cool to watch as within 10 minutes, everything was gone including bringing the eggs beneath ground.
Now, upon opening the door to garage it was like barn find, caked in dust, was quite surreal.
Even bits I was part way through refurbing went back to how they once were, on the side facing up anyways...
Good news at least is there was no leaks (well, apart from a small fuel leak but soon sorted). Good to the brake fluid holding strong though;
Bit of productivity though, finally changed the steering gaiters that perished a year ago;
Now it wouldn't be a post by me unless I had bought something new for the mini and well it has been a year, so yeah a few bits I have picked up;
An original set of GB centre caps to replace the reproductions. Believe it or not, been after a set of these for about 2 years. Spot the difference;
Fasten Seat Belt Gauge
Smiths Analogue Clock Binnacle (girlfriend happy to be made use of)
Fuel Bibs (got 4 in total, 2 for the twin tanks and 2 for spare or sale)
And finally my main purchase of the year which I was buzzing to receive when I got an email off of someone who had sourced a set of what I think are the best looking wheels in the mini scene;
6" x 10" Momo's!!!
And that brings me to date really. If your still reading, thank you very much and I will have updates more often now (not that it pins me down much with a year long window).
Any comments greatly received.
Cheers,
Chris
