Wow this topic hasn't been touched since january!

The trailer is holding up well and has been used several times, it now has an exhaust fitted too!

In preparation for London to Brighton I have finally fitted the BBQ =]

Here's some pics -

I have got a bit further than that now, the grill is back on and the buttons stick out through the grill. The gas pipe is fitted, I have decided that the gas bottle will simply sit on the floor when in use, when not in use the gas bottle will be dis-connected and stored elsewhere. Will take photos later.
All I have to do now is move the handle for the lid and test it ;D

So you will see me in crystal palace having bbq lunch and dinner, come say hello!

So here is the (nearly) finished article

I say nearly as we came across a few problems over the L2B weekend.
First off we need a fridge, keeping food and beer cold would be nice!
Secondly I need to put some type of surface around the bbq so that there is somewhere to put the burger flipping device.
Finally, I need to glue the grill knobs on, they worked to start but after a few turns came off :( ended up using pliers!

Really chuffed with it though, bbq went down a treat and had so much room for storage, didn't put anything in the car at all. Seems everyone else liked it aswel, every few seconds a photo was being taken and lost count of the people I spoke to about it!

if your going to put a fridge in there would it be worth getting a leasiure battery (like a caraven one) that you can charge and would put less drain on the mini.

i am really impressed with the trailer i love it :P

Hmmm, what about refitting the normal bonnet hinges and putting fold down shelves for sitting things, and utinsil hooks under the bonnet for hanging things? Maybe make it open farther then normal to a full vertical? Open up the bonnet and your tools are right there

Been a long long time again since I touched this! or been on the forum in general!
I have been working on a new project car so unfortunately the trailer has been pushed to one side and is suffering :xmas:
Its grown a bit of rust, the paint has faded and recently it got covered in air conditioning gas so the front end is in a bad way.
Brams96, im loving the picture you have made, since i now have to give it some tlc i might go down this route. shouldnt take long and if i find time i might even have it ready for the brooklands show in a couple of weeks....wish me luck!

its a really interesting project, do you mind if i steal a few ideas for when ive actually got money to make a trailer? :xmas: and im not sure how it would look, keep one side blanked off but put in a descreet door type thing and put the gas bottle up in the wheel arch so it can be constantly stored and changed when necessary and on the other arch mount in a spare wheel, thats what i would do anyway lol :xxx:

Hay this is a great little trailer you have there, I’ve been building a Mini Trailer of my own also… I’m just putting up the build thread here on TMF this week and as I was doing so I came across you trailer build, and in your intro I thought it was going to be the same thing??? But like your title yours is with a difference. I love the BB-Q. I started my trailer last summer and I’m starting up again as soon as the snow disappears… If you would like to follow along with my build I welcome you and others to do so.
I just hope my trailer turns out as nice as yours did.
Cheers.

Go to the thread “Slug” for my trailer build.

Go for it, there's so many different ways that this could have been built so i have no objection to anyone taking ideas. A cupboard for the gas bottle did cross my mind, but it would have made the nose weight a lot more, same for the spare wheel. The nose weight as it stands is higher than id like really so for me this is as far as the front end goes.

Be good to see another trailer out there, they seem to be few and far between. I had a look at your thread, you have a nice starting point, seems to be just as rusty as mine was! if you need any advice give me a shout...
