i said yeh ok, they said they would send me papers to confirm and i had 21 days to sign them and send them back, if i didnt cover would not continue, right with me so far?
What about them saying that you had 21 days in which to sign the papers to confirm and to send it back, if you didn't then your cover would not be renewed?!?!

Bloody insurance twots!! Money grabbing so and so's, try again and really have a rant at them!! If they said that in their phone call to you then you can argue that it's as binding as your "yeh ok"

Also, have you tried telling them that you will report them to the office of fair trading? Usually works if they're doing a dodgy and they'll back down pretty quickly.

You have paperwork that stipulates that you must return the signed documents in order to receive insurance, they can't just backtrack and say whatever the hell they like to get money out of you, the buggers!!

That's what I meant Bungle, also if it's for a renewal of an insurance policy I doubt they will have taken the money yet? Especially if you've cancelled whatever direct debit you had set up for them anyway.

Like I said before, refuse to pay a penny to them. If you feel a bit uneasy about that, ask your local CAB for some advice on this but I'm pretty damn sure they will agree that the insurance company are just trying to mug you.
Good luck
