As I said, I'd be more than happy to wait till May/June time as I've got plenty of other work I can be doing ( TURBO !!! )

Also, I bought some 5x12 wellers off 'jameswildcooper' that are in need of a refurb, which is something else I need to do. I was originally going to stick some bald tyres on and just stick the wellers on when I'm at santa pod, or on a track day sometime, but I really love wellers, so I might get some other tyres for them and swap and change between the wellers and revo's from time to time. I think the wellers would suit the car in white, they would match in with the white arches and roof.





Any help or advice about refurbing them would be great

refurbing wheels is easy just take ur time prep twice spray once thats the rule of thumb

Ok thanks.
So what do I need to be using to take all of the thick paint and surface rust off back to the bare metal?
Would it be ok to use a grinder with a sanding disc on it?

to be honest i normally do by hand and takes aroung 6 hours to do although may be quicker if the tyres are off to use nitromorse and let that break the back of the work

Couple of quid for a tin usually and any hardware shop sells it and even some supermarkets with a DIY section. It's in a green tin. Good stuff but very strong, try not to spill it lol.

yeh took me 6 hours to do my saxo wheels by hand
fiesta ones took 5 hours including dryin time

Got some nitromors stuff yesterday, and i've been busy stripping the paint. I've now stripped the whole front back down to the bare metal, and sanded down with some wet and dry. Just need to give it a quick once over to finnish a couple of bits around the lip, then it will be ready for priming. I'll post some pics up tomorrow, got the day off to go racing with someone at work, but hopefully shouldnt be too late back.

Also if i get time tomorrow, I'd like to start fitting the 4 pots, as they are all nicely cleaned up, and just require a final lick of paint, and fitting.

Didn't get back from racing untill late, so didn't have chance to do anything, and was too tired to do anything yesterday.

Just got one weller painted. Sanded untill it was an alright finnish, then 2 coats of primer and then a couple of coats of white. Still needs another coat of white to cover the last bits of primer (didn't have any white primer!) Looking good though! I'll post a couple of pics if i get time tomorrow. Havent had time to start fitting the brakes yet though.
