Yeah, your right, i've started to add up how much money it has "consumed" before, and just stopped in shock when it came to more than the price of the car :D
I just hope there is a bit of an improvement on 90hp when its on the rollers again :D

92 bhp

the 90 bhp was when it was a N/A 1293, but soon to a 1293 turbo as Dan said :)

I'll be chuffed with 120 bhp, but depending on the rolling road results, may wind the boost up a bit lol

EDIT: the power is quite high on the N/A engine mainly because it had a really good stage 4 head on it!!

More bad news I'm afraid :)
Went to MED again to see about my engine again, and he measured the crank, and its been reground THREE TIMES already!, so its on its limit, it cant be reground again, so its pointless hardening it :). So if anyone has a spare standard 1275 crank lying around anywhere........

I also need a standard cam in exchange for the piper one thats on its way, they can't exchange the 276 I have because its already been reground to 276 :dontgetit:

So I'll have a nice low mileage Kent 276 slot drive Camshaft up for sale if anyone is interested? only done 6000 miles.

Well a little bit of good news today !!

Took that rusty old crankshaft and camshaft to MED today, gave them both a little clean in the parts wash first, and cleaned them a little bit with some fine wet and dry paper.

Lee measured the crank, and its standard / standard, which is great as they will take it as an exchange item! Same as the cam, thats standard too.

So both items were left at MED. He said they have got some reground and hardened cranks coming back today, and some cams coming back from piper at the end of the week!!.

Thats good, as the other bits to the cam kit i.e. oil pump, cam followers and vernier timing gears are already in stock

So hopefully all the engine parts should be ready for the middle of next week, providing they hone the block and fit the pistons to the rods :o

I just need an engine gasket set and then I can start putting it back together
