Yes its been done now, got a professional to do it who knows what he is doing. Its still orange peel in places but its got a shine on it at least. He didn't nib it much at all because of how wafer thin the paint is, you can see dark patches in places before we even started where its not been covered properly. GREAT.

If the paint has been put on that thin, take it back and get them to do it again.

they shouldn't have collected it from the paint shop if it's that bad
After 8 months wait I wouldn't want too risk another wait....

Hope that people who want work doing see this thread and the other one and take
heed !!!

all I can suggest is to build it up and save up for a professional paint job later, someone
like 'panelbeaterpeter' a pro.....

Thats exactly my thoughts Carl, a shame because thats what we were told we would get, and because of the cost.

If your free over the weekend Carl feel free to come and have a look. I will be up there making a start to get it built up. I'm also off work all next week so hope to get lots done. The new loom arrived on thursday.

Im sorry to hear about the problems james looking at what you have done yourself on this project out shines the work that was done on the shell.

But to be honest i think the problems lie deeper than a paint job

Spoke to James yesterday, the car is due to go into the booth for paint on Monday. With a bit of luck I should be able to get the car back to him next week.

(then we can all be happy bunnies!!)

I'm still angry and disapointed by what has happened here and am looking forward to being able to deliver James a decent end product.

Cliff has bent over backwards to be helpful and and I'm very grateful to him for helping to sort this mess out.
