LolL me and james were actually going to do this to begin with then we have decided to do one at a time as they will get done fast that way if we help each other.....

Yay its back!! Looking loads better now. Cant wait to start work on it again. Did a little bit today, put the door seals on, window runners/rubbers in the door frames. Also put the door handle / latch and workings back on the drivers side.

One question Shifty, do you know where the bolts are for the window winder mechanisms please? I've got the winders and glass but cant find the screws to hold them to the doors?

I'm going to book another week off work, hopefully it will be more productive this time.

If not I've got a box full of that kind of stuff!!

Hello all, I'm back . I've got to get this back on the road pretty damn sharpish as my target was / is mitp ths summer. Plenty to be on with, so it's a good job I've booked the week off work and drafted in the help of two friends!

I've started work on it already, not done a lot, but it's a start!

Things I've done so far

Fitted the 4 pots and braided hoses. (thanks to Jess for the help!)
fitted new brake pipes across the front subby.
Started to fit the new wiring loom.
Trial fitted the new dashboard. Drilled holes for the dash.
Started on the gauge wiring.
Started on the switch wiring.
Painted the inside floors matching red.
built up the drivers door latch and handles.
built up the boot lid and fitted.
Fitted the door and boot seals.

The aim of this week off is to get the engine in and running, the car rolling and basically driveable.
A lot to do but I think it is achievable with help. I'm also getting help from my wonderful girlfriend when she isn't working ).

One problem I have come across already is the passenger door will not shut because the latch actually hits the striker plate before it closes. it looks like the door needs adjusting, maybe some shims taking out or something? This is because when the bodywork was done
for the second time, the door was changed for a different door because it had been badly repaired first time round.

Anyway, I'll keep the thread updated daily with plenty of pictures!

Got plenty done on the mini today. Struggling to upload pics directly off my phone, but I'll work it out!

Fitted the new headlight bowls, both headlights and chrome rings. Also fitted the new indicator units.
Had the help of Jess today who soldered in new headlight wiring for both headlights and sidelights as they were butchered out and all had to be re wired into the new loom. Looks great now though, all wired up and should work, just need a battery to test!

Also fitted the number plate light unit, rear lights and rear loom. Did a few other bits but will update tomorrow!
