Thanks for the comments! Yeah me too, I can't wait to get back behind the wheel again! Yeah I know what you mean Adam, but I want to get as much done in this week of as possible really. That will mean a few shortcuts, like the lack of turbo to start with, but it's mainly to get a bit of enthusiasm back.

Work done today :P
rear brake pipes removed. New pipes fitted both sides over the radius arms and to the rear cylinders.
Drivers door glass and winder all fitted and working.
Lighting switch, fog light switch and heated rear screen switch all removed and toggle switches wired in instead. separate warning lights incorporated, to be fitted below the switches.
Attempted to wire in the centre clock, but struggling with a few wires.
Messed around for hours trying to get the passenger door to close properly, with no luck. had the door off several times, the latch off loads of times and the striker plate off no end of times. Still the passenger door will not close. Any help with that would greatly be appreciated.

You could try and elongate the holes in the catch on the pillar to allow the door to
travel further in. I'll try and pop down tomorrow if I can get. Hopefully Ratty will be back on
the road for MITP.

Hopefully the door fitting will be sorted soon, posting the hinges back to shifty tomorrow and he is going to machine them down to allow the door to shut properly.

Hit other problems though, managed some how to melt the megajolt circuit board when testing. No idea how, but got that sent off to someone who used to build them who thinks there is a possibility it could be saved.

The passenger seatbelt mounting captive nut, between the inner and outer sills has started spinning which means i cant bolt the passenger harness in untill that is sorted. No idea how to fix that without cutting the inner sill out and re welding the captive nut on and then welding the panel back together.

Not the best weekends work, although did get some bits done. Also had to drive almost 2 hours each way to mini spares to pick up a big order that hadn't been dispatched

I will upload some pics when I get time. Must remember to charge the camera!

for the seat belt mount i would use a big hole saw to cut the nut and some metal around it out then weld the nut back on then weld the patch back in.

hope this helps rob

Yeah, thanks for the help James, really got loads done over those couple of days.

Its almost ready for the MOT, got a few more hours work still to do on it.

Work to do :

Bleed the brakes
Attach brake and fuel lines to floor
Plumb fuel pipes to carb
Fit exhaust
Fit driveshafts
Fit gear linkage
Fit gear stick
Fit arches
Clean and adjust rear brakes
Sort seatbelt mounting
Fit grille
Fit mirrors
Take for a nice long drive ;)

Just a couple of pics. It is a lot further on than this, but not had time to take pics.
