I rent the unit with 2 other people as its too expensive to take on alone as its 1200 square feet

I had to adjust the new panel to fit the original floor pan a little better

And tacked up for tomorrow's re-fit of the rear subframe

Good luck mate, you must know what your doing, i would sack it off and buy one already done, much easier and cheaper i bet, time is money and you must have lots of it..

have you drilled holes in the heal board and pluged them with weld to act as 'spot welds'??

Absolutely stunning work Ratty! This Mini will be like brand new when it's finished! It's also nice to see that you are using what look like the Somerford 'Restoration Quality' and Heritage panels with all of the little detail bits attached (slinging shoes on the bottom of the floors etc).

Can I ask what you use to cut away the old metal in the areas where an angle grinder won't fit? You are doing such a neat job and i'd love to emulate it >_<

Ted,

Yes I drilled holes and plug welded the heal board as my spot welder arms aren't long enough to reach, I've still got to finish all the plugs welds on the heal board as its tacked in to allow me to adjust slightly if needed

Goopster,

I always attempt to drill out the spot welds first, then I use either an angle grinder or a dremel if I can't get the grinder in. A file is always on hand as well for the awkwards little corners.

Somethings I'll cut a hole in another panel thats to be replaced just to gain access but you need to carefully work out the order that you'll put it back together so that you can get the welder or grinder in
