On the commentary they did say that most cars that did get destoyed came from a scrap yard and had something wrong ie one side gone or no engine it makes it a bit more comfortable to digest but not much!! it's buchery but a good film far better than the remake!!

Craig

Oh yes, I've only watched the so called remake once and that was painful enough. Never again.

Right you are there! Mark wahlberg is a complete >_< who cant act, and so are the rest of them, apart from jason statham, must have hit a rough patch when he agreed to be in that...

Which I seem to remember them keep on referring to as being a 1963 Mini. Probably no doubt as it got imported with faked documents like all the other late Minis out there?

>_<

But yes I hate Marc Wahlberk too!

>

Yes it was a late 1990's Mini Cooper alright, but I remember watching the preview documentary on TV prior to that film being released and Charlize Theron (or whatever her name is) claimed that she drove the 1963 Mini.

So I honestly believe that 90's Mini Cooper got imported with faked documents to get around the age import problem. i.e. I believe a Mini has to be at least 25 years old to be allowed to be imported into the USA? So hundreds or even more later models just got in with fake older documents and id's.

They really haven't got a clue.

I mean they even believe that a possessed VW Beetle with a mind of it's own won the Monte Carlo Rally.

We know for a fact it was the Mini who achieved that 4 times in a row (and yes I'm counting 1966 too, so go stick that in your pipe and smoke it France!).

>_<

That french driver as well poor bloke... Must have been awful for him if he ditched citroen over it.

Anyway, italian job  i always thought the bit where the mini drives up out of the weir and the rubbish fiat police car just sort of flops down and breaks was funny but thats just me :) and that was when i was like 6 so i dunno now lol.

Yeh when the cops try n get up the ramp but have to hit the side and they get swept away!! lol!!!

I'd rather drive a mini than a 2CV!! lol

Craig

Even better than that when they ram the doors with the transporter and the cars fall off onto the cop car!! should they not be strapped on???

I wasn't really insulting the French, I mean that was like years ago. But they probably would have been disqualified for using the wrong coloured socks on their feet, as a French car was destined to win that year regardless of anything else.

But the Citroen DS driver who picked up the trophy said it was a very hollow victory and they certainly didn't deserve it.

Either way, victory was won in 1967 (the following year) when the Minis were triumphant again.

:)

My 10 year old son is called 'Dominic' and it was after we'd named him that we realised he had Mini in his name. i.e.: -

Dominic

;D :)
