If you are replacing the existing switches, you will need to modify the indicator/hazard circuit quite a bit. as the standard Mini hazard switch has a lot of terminals that the savage type don't.

The savage type switches are basically on or off, but they do have the option of push-to-make, and push-to-break at the same time, meaning you can power both the hazard and indicator circuits from the same fuse and when the hazard switch is operated, it disconnects the indicator circuits.... You will also need to get some diodes to use in the hazard circuit.

If you do a google, you will be able to find some more circuit info, but here is one i just found that should start you off

As for light switch, you will need 2, one for the sidelights and one for the headlights. Brake test switch can be done easily enough, and so can the rear demist...

Just received my savage start switch, unfortunately it has got to go back as the face is damaged.

Any way question is - can these be wired straight into the start circuit or is an additional relay needed, it is just that the switch block supplied looks a little flimsy

Cheers

The savage switches have a built in relay, these are rated at 10 Amps if i remember correctly (It might me 20, but it should tell you in the instructions...).

Anyway, i only fitted an extra relay on the main beam on mine, the starter and headlights are fine straight through the switch...

Cheers Syholl

Thats a big help, it's just that the little switch/relay block they supply doesn't look ig enough. Going to be leavling the main beam on the stalk so should be OK.

I know they look the business, but once you've fitted it and turned the key two clicks, won't you just carry on turning once you get lazy?

I imagine it would be more useful if it had a kill switch to partner it then you could stop and restart the engine without messing with a key.

Still cool tho.
